Syfy has picked up drama Haven for a fourth season. Haven, based on Stephen King’s novella The Colorado Kid, has received a 13-episode order for a 2013 premiere. Gabrielle Stanton (Moonlight) has been tapped to run the series with exec producer Matt McGinnis after initially serving as a consulting producer.
Haven has been a successful acquisition for Syfy as the series ranks as the No. 1 cable program among adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 in its Friday 10-11 PM time period (in Live+7). The current third season is averaging 2.4 million total viewers and 942,000 adults 18-49. The September 21 Season 3 premiere drew 2.8 million total viewers, a series high and up 10% from the Season 2 premiere. Haven hails from Entertainment One, which greenlighted the project straight-to-series before shopping it to Syfy. Haven also is co-commissioned by Shaw Media in Canada and globally via Universal Networks International.

I am very excited to see Haven continue. I watch this show week after week and look for it’s return each year. I love the direction it has taken this season and I am excited to see where they go from here. I am HUGE fan of Eric Balfour and I think he brings so much to the intended love triangle on Haven. I like that Audrey recognizes it but I realize she thinks Nathan is her guy.
Last week with the admission of the Bolt Gun Killer was excellent and I never saw it coming. Really looking forward to what comes next. I am even loving the new “like” between Nathan and Duke. Even if they won’t admit it!
I peeked at wiki, and saw their show names. “Thanks for the memories”, and “The Reunion”, seems a little to me like an end to the whole mystery of Audrey. But I just love Haven, and am very pleased to know that they are bringing a fourth season. It will be kind of interesting to see how they carry things on.
I am glad to read that Haven will return for the fourth season. Good luck to the future.
I like the interaction between Eric and Emily. It adds another dimension to the show, which is maturing and ever so changing in its scripting. Like Jamie, above, I was totally blown away by the Bolt Gun Killer and can’t wait until tonight. The Cast is A+ in my book and the writers are in the same league. I just wish that there were more episodes per season. Good luck with season 4.
Those numbers are pathetic compared to Eureka’s. Of course they renew this one, while cancelling the other.
Yeesh.
Eureka, which has been since before Syfy underwent a rebrand, was a victim of circumstances. I’m sure the Syfy execs want to keep it to another season but things didn’t go their way at the height of Comcast’s take-over of NBCUniversal’s TV networks.
Eureka out lived it self it was good but went on far to long that the suspense faded and got boring have you seen haven it keeps u glued to the tv and when one episode/series has finished makes you crave for more bit like how vampire diaries makes me feel and look how well that’s doing.
What about alphas I love that show
So so happy. I was sure it’d be the last season given the hesitation last year over renewal. Delighted. The cast/crew has great rapport and chemistry and this season has really ramped it up.
Thanks, former Eureka writer.
The only disadvantage to getting a season 4 is not finding out everything at the end of season 3! Congrats to the whole staff and great job!
I want Alphas!! :’(
I love this show. Glad that its getting a 4th season. Season’s 1 and 2 had some great revelations, and the plot thickens with season 3… although part of me has been wondering if they hadn’t told ‘too much’ for fear of not getting to tell it all should the show not get a season 4. Its really too bad that networks wouldn’t commit to multiple season at a time more often, which would allow the writers more comfort in their long range planning.
Anyhow. Season 3 has been interesting so far. Anybody else notice that the show looks a bit different this season, like they changed cameras perhaps? And I think in general everything looks darker… in addition, of course, to the content itself growing darker.
I guess the big question right now is… who or what was the bolt gun killer building?
I have a feeling this this season will end with another 27 year gap. However maybe Duke and Nathan get caught in the ‘crossfire’ and go with her this time. and it’ll be their new mission to help the troubled! maybe :L I hope not though, because they may lose their memory, and i don’t want them to have to get to know each other all over again. If there is a 27 year gap, i hope they get to keep their memories!.
The show got a new DP for season 3, which affects the look.
PLease SyFy, we want a season 3 of Alphas!
Well-deserved, Haven! Now — we want more Alphas! Yeah!
This show is awesome so glad its on right after smackdown
In the episode “magic hour part 2″ what does the island with the barn on top of it mean?
I think the barn appears whenever Audrey disappears each time. She saw it in a flashback and someone was beckoning her in. Vince said to Tommy (when he was asking about the barn) that only 1 person goes inside the barn. It is starting to appear now because the time for her to go is getting closer.
On an interview with the writers, they said they have enough backstory for Audrey for nine seasons. While they could wrap everything up with any season if they stop getting renewed, they still have the possibility for others. I think we will just get all sorts of confused yet again. Though maybe we will learn where she goes when she disappears.
A big fan from Argentina. Love the show and i’m happy to know about the fourth season¡
I love haven’s cast and script in general. When i watch it it makes me feel like its happening in real life. Reminds me a lot of what i write in my books
Congrats on a fourth season, hate that I’ll have to wait..what a year to see it.. just watched the sneak peak for “Thanks For The Memories” Bob Hope Would love it!!!
Wow I know we are in for one hell of a cliff hanger and cuddos for Syfy not airing “Reunion” last night, after the Terrible Tragedy in Connecticut.
Best show ever.
I love this show so much and look forward to many years of it. I love all the actors they are fabulous and the script is so brilliant.
Haven is one of the most original and unique shows out there. I am very pleased to know there is going to be a fourth season. I’ll be watching
I love this show and the cast and hate how long it takes to be able to see it again once it ends however I was very disappointed with this last seasons finally it felt so badly done and as if it was a complet end to the show.
While I’m still in mourning over final end of the excellent “Fringe,” I’m delighted to see that Haven has been renewed. And, yep, I’m another fan who has no idea what the suits were thinking about cancelling Eureka. That one just supports the idea that TV exists to sell commercial products, not to entertain people.
As a resident of Lunenburg, N.S., where some of Haven is filmed, it’s been such a kick watching the town where I live on TV, especially the ariel shots and the crowd scenes where I can pick out familiar faces.
Don’t you need 65 one-hour episodes to syndicate a TV show? If so, I can’t see the producers ordering a fourth 13-episode season without looking towards a fifth season to reach the ‘magic’ number.
As long as they keep the quality up, a fifth season should be assured.
