Supernatural Southern Gothic looks like quite a combination. Here’s Warner Bros‘ new trailer for Beautiful Creatures, directed by Richard LaGravenese from his screenplay based on the first of a series of novels by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. It stars Alice Englert, Viola Davis, Emmy Rossum, Alden Ehrenreich, Jeremy Irons and Emma Thompson. Opens February 13th, 2013.

It looks like it would make a better TV series than a movie. Also feel like the VFX aren’t quite finished yet. Kind of lackluster in my opinion knowing VFX still has all of December and January to keep working. It’s like twilight meets trueblood, meets the craft…. and yep its exactly that mix of quality and ridiculousness.

In a sea of teen shit, this one looks well done. I don’t know the books but it looks very polished.
This looks positively wretched—but after Twilight, Hollywood has finally discovered teenaged girls.
The problem with that demo is that, unlike teenaged boys, who will see anything cool, teeneaged girls are fickle.
So no matter how awful, this dross will either make a gazillion dollars—or die horribly.
