this movie has been out for well over a month in australia. It’s one of those films that has some interesting scenes, some stand out performances (especially from the two bungling mobsters who instigate the story) but it ultimately doesn’t add up to a coherent whole. It’s instead content to devote large chunks of time to characters rambling about their meaningless lives while the audience grows disappointed. By no means a bad film, just a major let down.
This was released in Ireland and the UK during the summer and I have to say..except for a spectatcular drive by shooting sequence, good grief it’s boring!
Can’t understand why the Film Critics gave 4 stars for this film. A waste of money! This only deserves 1 star.boring
Looks like my kind of movie, but this new epidemic of naming films with popular song titles must end:
Killing [Me] Softly, This Must Be The Place, Not Fade Away, Beasts of Burden, Graceland, I’m So Excited, Jane Got a Gun, Welcome to the Jungle, The Devil Inside, Monday Monday, Wish You Were Here, Gimme Shelter, Dream On, Me and My Shadow, etc etc.
And that’s only from 2012 to 2014.
Sure, it’s a way to have instant name recognition for an unknown property…but this is getting out of hand.
Remember after the Colorado theater shootings when Harvey Weinstein was talking about film companies being more responsible in the types of gun-centric movies they make? Well, have you seen a more gun-centric marketing campaign than this one? What an ass.
Saw it in London. Beautifully shot, with some good to great performances. Basically a high-quality early Tarantino knock-off.
I liked it, but the main moviegoer will not. This will be a huge disappointment. That’s too bad b/c i thought this group made a masterpiece with their last effort, ….Jessie James by the coward Robert Ford.
Interesting how a lot of BP movies come out around Oscar time. Also interesting that his bride to be was reported on other websites giving a party for Ewan McGregor instead of for Brad, when according to all of the replies mentioned above the movie needs the help.
I dont usually comment on movies I watch. But this one really pushed me to give one, just because watching it was one hell of a disappointment. The movie is boring and nonsense. Such a big waste of time and money ????????????????????
