If the BO bar is ALL ABOUT STEVE…..
It’s going to be close!
I think that McCarthy is a very funny actress, as well as Bullock. This movies is going to be very funny. the two of them together are going to be hilarious. if people don’t think that this movie as well as Idenity Theft is or will be funny then don’t go see them. don’t talk crap about them.
It’ll be a nice 90 to 100 m hit before Iron Man 3 opens. Won’t get Bridesmaids numbers, but it’ll be solid.
Are you serious? 90M-100M? Are you out of your damn mind? I’ll be surprised if it makes 9M-10M.
Bullock & McCarthy; you had me at hello. And the trailer looks awesome. I can’t wait!!!
I’m done!
I still am amazed (and extremely happy) at McCarthy’s post Sookie fame!
McCarthy is a bad, bad actress. I will not be watching this “film”.
McCarthy is a ‘bad actress’? No offense, sir or ma’am, but WHAT PLANET ARE YOU FROM??! Melissa McCarthy is brilliant, versatile and adorable. You are either envious envious or delusional (take your pick).
um yeah, this does not look funny and neither of the characters seem that likeable. have a feeling this one is gonna flop.
McCarthy I can do without on that lame Mike and Molly sitcom — but have to say, she’s funny as sh*t on these R rated comedies. Throw Sandra in the mix (as the perfect straight) and this’ll do very, very well (as in the sequel kind of well). Great casting, well done!
Huh? Sandra is doing Miss Congeniality it’s the exact same part a pretty FBI agent who never gets respect and Melissa is doing her obnoxious tough broad from Bridesmaids. I agree this will make some decent money it’s funny but aren’t they tired of doing the same exact characters? Melissa also plays the same exact part in Identity Thief which really looks stupid. Just because she’s fat doesn’t mean she has to be obnoxious. She’s certainly likable and charming on Mike & Molly. Who is advising her on these movie parts? Will she always play the same exact part in every movie?
Yes. We believe the movie audience wants to see Melissa as a loud-mouth obnoxious boisterous boorish bully. We have done research which tells us this is what moviegoers want to see Melissa do. It’s all they want to see her do. She is now typecast for movies for the rest of her career. The research never lies and we have to give the people the Melissa they want to see.
Thank goodness for some reasoning.
I really thought I was in some strange universe. I don’t see how anyone thinks this looks good or interesting. And yes Melissa is playing the same character in all her upcoming films. She even looks the same as she does in Identity Thief. She is a smart woman and funny. She needs to not do these kids of roles. And Sandra Bullock shows once again that this is as far as she is able to stretch. It look boring and the same old same old.
Ugh.. it looks like a hot mess.
Hey – I know it’s the internet & you’ll just have to take my word for it, but I identified Thomas F. Wilson from that short side-view scene. I’m looking forward to seeing Wilson!
See people? You went and helped make a terribly mediocre film named “Bridesmaids” make some money just to let women think that they were funny. Now see what you get? Crap like this, that assumes that Melissa McCarthy is actually funny.
Thank God I’m not the only one saying this anymore….
yeah, cause we all want to see Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell and Mall Cop Guy again. You just can’t handle that women are funny. You can’t handle women being anything but younger and prettier who laugh at your dumb jokes so you could “be the man..” why don’t you look at who you’re dating or married to. Says a lot doesn’t it?
Sounds like you could use another pint of ice cream to sooth your anger.
Yo that black dude is Spoken Reason from Youtube and that’s Dee From Sunny in Philadelphia..and this do look like Miss Congeniality part 3..
Why the hell would they use that song AGAIN. So old, so used….. come on- find something original. It was on 2 trailers AT LEAST last year. Fox, think about it….
Half of the trailer I wondered: “Is this Miss Congeniality 3? Did I miss somehow that it was shot?”
I liked trailer. It was really funny. But the name? “The Heat”? It was already famous movie with Pachino and De Niro.
That film was simply called HEAT.
I’m starting to get tired of Melissa McCarthy’s schtick now.
amirite, I was already tired. I still feel Rose Byrne deserved the Oscar nomination for Bridesmaids. Her role was genuinely funny and she had to be convincingly mean and nasty. She had the most challenging role in that movie, and she pulled it off with a credible American accent. And, her performance was the most subtle performance in that movie.
There’s a reason why Marie Dressler was a big star on the roster at Mayer’s MGM. She was identifiable and relate-able in real life as was Wallace Beery also at MGM; and as is John Goodman. Ever see what the ladies and guys look like down at the local precinct? McCarthy and Goodman are real people. Put McCarthy (who’s hilarious in this trailer as is Bullock) in a movie with Kenan Thompson I say! I would watch Bullock open a refrigerator door. I would watch that a lot come to think of it. She’s a great star/comedienne who’s glamorous but approachable like a Claudette Colbert maybe. Kristen Wiig has somethin’ similar goin’ on but not the same. Good point about the song by the way. It’s interesting how these UP ENERGY songs become fashionable as sales tools (for six or nine months or so) be it legally licensed or ripped off to be suggestive of the original song to replicate the IDEA of “up energy” that the original represented in the culture which is what happens in a lot of ad campaigns.
Oh Fox… you’re always a little late to the party
This looks funny as hell.
It looks just like every other buddy cop movie. Only with ladies instead of dudes.
So, you know, shitty.
funny times two. can’t wait to see this one.
maybe Sandra and Melissa can share a razzy this year…
Ewwww. What’s that smell? Oh, it’s Sandra Bullock’s career going down the toilet.
