Doesn’t look half bad. Like when Vin Diesel went gritty in A MAN APART. Hopefully this will be better. Seems like the Rock’s reps are getting him some good roles.
I have to comment though that Benjamin Bratt’s accent sounds really fake.
Dwayne Johnson makes entertaining action movies that have a place in the market. Kind of like Charles Bronson in the ’70s.
Ric Roman Waugh is super talented and actually managed to carve a decent performance out of Rock.
He needs to drop the Roman unless he’s trying to come off as pretentious. Dude, your name’s Ric Waugh, not James Smith or Paul Anderson. No one’s confusing you with anyone else in the marketplace.
I like this guy. He’s really likeable and there’s something warm about him; like you can feel there’s a heart beating underneath all that muscle.
OK… that came out weird, but whatever. You get the point if you’re to get it.
It’s not weird, jkl, it’s spot on and, in my experience, how he comes across in real life as well. It’s also why he has such a broad fanbase and appeal. I’m actually keen to see Johnson stretch his acting chops in roles outside what he has played so far because I think he could really surprise us.
So it’s a remake of Gone In 60 seconds but on drugs.
Bernthal = the bomb. He is going to explode with this action.
Omar’s coming, that is, Omar from The Wire is coming back. This looks badass, the story very reminiscent of the Ferrera film starring David Caruso whose character gets jammed up between the Feds and the mob, neither of whom will let him go.
Didn’t Rock fire his agent after he attached him to this film?
Rick Waugh. Stuntman turned writer/director = easy cheap films w/ modest returns; straight to DVD type stuff.
