EXCLUSIVE: Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s Gary Sanchez Prods has teamed with actress Anne Heche to produce Bad Judge, a single-camera half-hour comedy for NBC. Written by Chad Kultgen (The Incredible Burt Wonderstone), Bad Judge is based on an idea brought to Gary Sanchez by Heche. It centers on a hard-living, sexually unapologetic woman who plays with the
law, and whose life on the edge is constantly in balance as she also happens to be a judge in the Criminal Court system. Universal Television, where Gary Sanchez has a deal, is producing. Heche and Jill Messick will executive produce alongside Ferrell and McKay.
Bad Judge expands Heche’s relationship with NBC, where she is starring in and producing another female-centered single-camera comedy, midseason series Save Me, from Sony TV. This marks Gary Sanchez Prods’ third sale to NBC this season in addition to Leslye Headland’s Assistance and Lauryn Kahn’s I Guess I Do. Heche is with Untitled and UTA; Gary Sanchez with CAA and WME; Kultgen is with CAA.

I see that it takes a man to write a female centered comedy. That makes sense. Total sense.
Yeah, because it’s not like women can write shows about men…
So if SAVE ME is successful, someone else stars in BAD JUDGE?
Good job security for Anne Heche I guess.
But I liked what I saw of Save Me so I hope it delivers and is successful.
