EXCLUSIVE: Will Ferrell, Liam Neeson, Nick Offerman and Alison Brie have joined Warner Bros and Village Roadshow’s Lego feature film. They join Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett and Morgan Freeman in the 3D animated pic, which is set for a February 7, 2014 release. The plot follows Emmet (Pratt), an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average Lego minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. He is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant. Ferrell will play Emmet’s primary adversary, President Business; Neeson is the president’s powerful henchman, Bad Cop; Offerman is a craggy, swaggering pirate obsessed with revenge on President Business; and Brie is a member of Emmet’s team with a powerful secret.
Phil Lord & Christopher Miller (21 Jump Street) are directing from their original screenplay — with story by Dan Hageman & Kevin Hageman and Phil Lord & Christopher Miller — based on the kids toy line. Lin Pictures and Vertigo Entertainment are behind the pic; Dan Lin and Roy Lee are producing.

The bad guy is named “Business”? Should make for some priceless comments if Drudge gets a hold of this!
It sounds horrible. What a waste of money that will be. No doubt public has been really clamoring for a “Lego” movie. When is that Viewmaster movie coming out and what’s next – Frisbee the Movie? Slinky? Hula Hoop? UGH…
“A 21 JUMP STREET movie? Who would see that?”
Dude, chill. Do your research on everyone involved. This film will be epic. Everyone will be completely surprised and blown away.
whomever the CEO of LEGO is please give this person the CEO of the decade award, when I was a kid they were just blocks for kids, and now made for tv movies, feature movies, video games, stores and theme parks…geez this simple toy has quietly grown into an empire.
