Fans anxious for the Internet resurrection of All My Children by Prospect Park have a bit more to celebrate. Vincent Irizarry, who played Pine Valley’s Dr. David Hayward on the long-running ABC soap, announced on his Facebook page that he has come aboard. “Happy to share that I just signed on with Prospect Park for the All My Children reboot! … A great, big thank you to all the fans for your tenacity”. As we reported earlier this week, talks with cast and production team members of AMC and One Life To Live are continuing with an eye toward beginning production of new half-hour episodes by February in Stamford, Conn.

Excellent News! He is one of the key characters and actors to making the reboot a success for PP.
Awesome! I’ve been hoping that one day AMC and OLTL would get a ressurection in some form. I just wish that ABC would just bring it back instead of the boring line up they replaced the shows with. I also hope with the “reboot” that they at least give some closure to where they left off on both shows.

This is fantastic news. Just remember, there is no AMC without La Lucci. As much as I miss Pine Valley, you’ve got to have Erica Kane. (Not that I’m not happy you’ve signed VI)
I used to think that but I really like “Kendal” and think she could be groomed to take Erica’s place. Remember, it used to be Phobie in the limelight and then Erica came along and stole the show.

So excited to hear that Vincent “Dr. Hayward” is on board!! Personally, I think the show would do fine without Erica (no offense Ms Lucci). Got tired of her years ago. Anxiously awaiting to hear who else is on board. Would love to hear that (Tad) Michael E. Knight has signed on also!!

Well all I have to say is “IT’S ABOUT TIME!” I am just thrilled at this news. I have been wanting this for a very long time. It will be great to see the show again! Hope Jordi joins in as well as many of the originals.

As a life long soap fan and someone who has taken all these types of announcements with a huge grain of salt since ABC’s double downer announcement that both daytime dramas were getting cut loose from the schedule, I have to admit that having VI’s support gives the project a lot of credibility. Don’t F it up Prospect Park!
This is a good start but like Lucci/Erica or not is a great foil to Vincent and really part of the roots of the show – she has the it quality and makes her scenes sizzle whether you like her or not. Yes diehards may say they like other characters but Lucci is key to getting the PR and media attention for AMC. Izarry is great but he does not have the Q rating or draw factor for mediat attention as Lucci. For the sake of AMC hopefully something can be arranged to let her do all three shows (though this sounds somewhat optimistic).
I think Prospect Park needs to keep the key elements of the show on board but with the reboot, they also need to take the show in a new modern day direction. I think the show (now being on the net) might have an opportunity to be more provocative and edgy. I love how Ryan Murphy pushes the limits but doesn’t entirely break the rules on FX. Such as Nip/Tuck. I would love if All My Children was taken to a more edgy level, maybe loosen up and be more controversial. If Susan Lucci can’t come back, I would love them to pick up a new diva. Kelly Carlson was an amazing on Nip/Tuck and if they linked her up with Vincent aka David, it be freaking awesome. I loved when Sarah Michelle Gellar played evil Kendal. Alicia Minshew was great but that whole turned nice act got boring quick. I loved her in Cruel Intentions and she really was so similiar to Kendals character in that movie. I really hope these idea’s might come as good ones and considered by prospect park. I loved the Janet story line too with trevor. Maria, Edmund and Dimitri triangle. I just hope the writers really do their research and compare stories of the past with high points on the show. This is a true gift to have the show return but please do not fail us again. It was a true shame after all the effort of moving to LA just a year before news of cancelation.

I’m very happy that the show is being brought back. Really shouldn’t have been canceled in the first place. Amc had a 40 year run if its not broke dont fix it especially with another crappy cooking show to replace the time slot. A time slot that will probably be canceled in the next couple years anyway. Well in conclusion I’ve been watching the show since i was a baby with my mom. Then mostly because she made me but now because learned to love the show and would love to have it back on the air so it can keep me remembering the good times i had watching it as a kid with my mom. Really means a lot.Thanks for bringing back great memories.
