The return of Shahs Of Sunset last night delivered the Bravo reality show its highest rating to date. The Season 2 premiere Sunday pulled in 2.3 million total viewers and 1.4 million viewers in the adults 18-49 demographic. That’s a 106% rise in total viewers from Shahs’ Season 1 debut on March 11. The second-season debut of West Hollywood’s Persian-American friends was also up 102% among the 18-49 demo from the first-season premiere. The show was up 50% from the total audience that watched its first-season finale on April 15. Shahs Of Sunset is produced by Ryan Seacrest Prods; the American Idol host serves as executive producer along with Adam Sher and Kris Curry. Eric Gardneris is co-executive producer.

Please make it stop
With rubbish like “Shahs of Sunset” making it on to the air, no wonder more and more people are cutting their cords…
Cutting their cords??..sounds like more and more people are watching.
Okiedokie… time to avoid all sponsors of this rubbish like the plague.
Other than football, nothing worth watching on ANY channel; repeats, & crap – including this crap. Nope, I didn’t watch Shas nor will I ever.
This show is embarrassing to the people who ACTUALLY live above Sunset Blvd and pretty much any other person in LA. These people are as poor in taste as they are in wealth. The entitlement factor is the biggest turn off…now they have a show and its worse. But based on the ratings, Im not the majority.
This is a god reality show. A lot of young gay men from ethnic backgrounds can relate to Reza.
Thank you, Ryan Seacrest and Andy Cohen, for perpetuating the horrible stereotypes about Iranian-Americans. If racist xenophobes needed one more reason to hate middle easterns, this show will provide them with more reasons to do so. Seacrest and Cohen should be ashamed of careers build on selling vile trash to the American public. Every new show they produces lowers the bar further down into the abyss.
This show is horrible and has no substance. I am an Iranian and embrassed to watch this show.
This show needs to be CANCELLED!!!!
How can the Iranian community sit back and allow themselves to be portrayed in this manner. I was shocked. They should go live with the camels only I don’t think the camels would think them worthy enough.
I can understand why Persians would be offended but I don’t think that people will watch this and think that all Iranian-Americans are like the characters on this show; by now people realize that “reality” shows are often exaggerated, with storylines manipulated by producers, etc.
That being said, I highly doubt that we will ever see a show like “Real Jewish American Princesses” or something that exploits the stereotypes of that particular group like we’ve seen with those like “Shahs of Sunset”, “Jersey Shore”, “Teen Mom”/”Here Comes Honey Boo-Boo”, etc.
@Bill H
2 or 3 of the people on the show are actually Iranian Jews.
