Stephen Colbert last night on The Colbert Report premiered scenes from Breaking Abbey, or “Breaking Bad as performed by the men of Downton Abbey.” In it, Downton stars Hugh Bonneville, Jim Carter and Rob James-Collier cook meth and deal with an unsavory character played by Mark Consuelos, all done with their characters’ customary aplomb. Season 3 of Downton Abbey premieres January 6, while the final installment of Breaking Bad debuts in the summer.

P.S. The lesser characters were funnier, bc they stayed in character while out of their element. A better line for Lord G. would have been something like “To quote the Bard: Et tu, Carson? Et tu?” or “I understand, Carson, I understand. It’s the war. It’s… changed us all.” [BANG]
