Fox News has confirmed New York Magazine‘s claim that Roger Ailes is cutting back air time for Fox News contributors Karl Rove and Dick Morris for the time being. (“The election’s over.”) Ailes told media watchers he had a “what the?” reaction to Rove’s election-night meltdown. Morris kept predicting a Mitt Romney landslide on Election Day. NYM says Ailes’ deputy Fox News programming chief Bill Shine “is requiring producers to ask for approval before lining up any Rove or Morris appearances”. Both pundits made several appearances in the days after the election, but their visibility on the network has faded since then. A spokesperson for Ailes denies any rift: Ailes and Rove plan to meet this week. Meanwhile, President Obama held a Tuesday afternoon briefing on the fiscal cliff for MSNBC primetime hosts Rachel Maddow, Al Sharpton, Lawrence O’Donnell, and Ed Schultz, who tweeted about it.

It’s about time Fox dumped these airheads who, obviously, live in a bizarro world all their own.
Bye, bye Dick and Karl.
Why did they leave Mr. Norquist off the NO Air time List?
less clowns in the circus
They both embarrassed themselves. Why anyone pays attention to them is beyond me.
Meanwhile, speaking of embarrassments, the entire MSNBC lineup meets with Obama at the White House. Journalism is dead in America.
Journalism is alive, but if you’re looking for it on TV, you’re looking in the wrong place.
Enlighten me, oh wise one. Where might I find professional objective
journalism
Ailes is being petty and stupid he should give the two of them a new show to do together “The Wrong Guys” the ratings would be boffo. Somebody call Roger and tell him this is what I want to see.
I LOVE Dick Morris. Any man who will let his hooker listen in on phone calls with the President should be the FOX Newz Netwerk.
And Karl Rove should be wearing a “I Spent Three Hundred Million On This Elelction And All I Got Was This Lousy T-shirt” shirt over his little muffin body.
I’ll miss them as their circus leaves town. Any chance that Sarah could pack up her acrobatic gear and leave with them? I mean there is only so much room at the make-up table for the number of clowns on Fox Newz.
Stupid comment belongs on msnbc.
“Little muffin body”? I’m dying here!
“Meanwhile, speaking of embarrassments, the entire MSNBC lineup meets with Obama at the White House. Journalism is dead in America.”
No kidding. Let me summarize Maddow, Sharpton et al’s tweets about the event for you: “ZOMG SWOOOON!!!”
Everybody (in the US) laughs at MSNBC and FOX, at “journalists” becoming political shills. But just a couple of months ago Irina Bokova of UNESCO decried journalists being targeted in Syria and elsewhere. Everyone, I think, has noticed that more real journalists are getting killed or attacked trying to report news. But if everyone in the world associates “journalists” with corrupt politicians, as political shills, the whole profession is corrupted and more and more journalists will be endangered in the same way politicians are endangered when rebels and dissidents feel violence is their only solution. MSNBC and FOX contribute to this corruption, politicalization, of journalism and the consequences are grotesque. Why do we laugh about it?
There are differences between journalists and news commentators. Most of those to whom you refer are not journalists. Brett Baier and Shep Smith are the journalists, O’Reilly, Hannity and Sustren are opinion people. Don’t confuse the two.
Of these two charlatans, Morris is the more vile, although it’s a toss-up. His diatribes are so incredibly knee-jerk.
Rove is an embarrassment, even for Fox News. He’s got his head up the Red Elephant’s ass so deep he is unable to accept reality when it hits him in the face.
Your own bias betrays your ability to think rationally. These are both intelligent, well educated men who said a lot of things before the election that turned out to be very wrong. Reasonable people understand that they did so for varied reasons, not the least of those being that they wanted Mr. Romney to be elected. Both gave well reasoned arguments for their beliefs/wishes, but they consistently acknowledged that their predictions were based on historical trends that this election simply did not follow. Their biggest mistakes were their estimations of Republican voter turnout which they anticipated would be extraordinary, but which was actually lackluster. They can both come across as arrogant asses. That does not make they stupid or put them anywhere near the head up the proverbial ass region occupied by the likes of Chis Matthews et. al.
From my perspective, Morris and Rove have become more interested in promoting Republicans (big government RINOs mostly) and promoting their books/PACs/personal revenue generation than in passing along their unbiased political analysis and news (something they used to do IMHO). Thus instead of a campaign operative’s or pollster’s inside view of a race, we get propaganda supporting Republicans.
I’d suggest that FOX (and the MSM) use Intrade (the gambler’s view) when reporting on horse’s ass races. They are more accurate and devoid of partisanship/propaganda.
I read Fox hosts went apoplectic when Obama invited MSNBC hosts among other progressive leaders…I remember George Bush doing the same thing – with people like Rush, Glenn, Hannity, and the other biggies all broadcasting from the White House and video of Sean Hannity schmoozing in the Oval Office with Pres Bush – THis is the way of todays world.
Love to see some documentation on this. Do you have any?
You might recall Bush did it at the end of his 2nd term as a thank you to those that had helped push his agenda…Obama is doing it before the 2nd term even gets started.
Morris flatly admitted he only said Romney would win in a “landslide” because he wanted to tell Republican viewers what they wanted to hear. That’s Faux/Fixed/Fakes News in a nutshell: forget facts, integrity or honesty, just PANDER TO THEIR PREJUDICES AND DELUSIONS!!
1. He consistently criticizes the partisan “chatter” on cable news.
2. Ailes and Rove go overboard believing that they can galvanize a media viral election-win “tipping point.” (And Ailes couldn’t stop them? Please. Not a fan of either [Morris and Rove] but it looks like “message” – not “message”; programming – scapegoating to me. Murdoch and Ailes blew it. Man up guys.
3. Obama then digs in with what amounts to an MSNBC conference call with its principals in the middle of the deja vu “fiscal cliff” re-make?
4. These particular news channels – it’s like they function as each party’s P.R. division – and Obama decided that he would run the latest past the guys in the P.R. department down the hall for press release purposes. (As though the Bush administration did not do this, right?)
5. Notice that Mika Brzezinski, Chris Matthews, and Joe Scarborough are not that on that list. Not surprised and good for them.
6. If he weren’t only interested in cracking State Fair eggs, banging football helmets together in the Capitol building, and playing “Charles in Charge” – considering the current impasse – as conciliatory effort – he would have had that “conference call”… with FOX. The things he does, the moves he makes, always makes situations worse not better. And NOTHING ever gets genuinely resolved.
7. I like Bret Baier (shocking especially to me but I like that he didn’t kiss the president’s ass in one of those exclusive one-on-one numbers,) Sheppard Smith, and I am happy to give Megyn Kelly her due for sharp news and great television but of the Stewart/Colbert kind.
Not to worry. They can always go across the street to….oh wait, there’s nothing lower than Fox News. Guess they’re screwed.
Fox is number one watched news show, so apparently you are wrong.
I hear “Honey Boo Boo” gets great ratings too. Your point is????
want lower-try msnbc
It is amazing to me that ANYONE would admit to watching MSNBC or Fox news or CNN. Good grief people don’t you have any standards.
So why don’t you list who you watch? So we can all laugh; Fox News is the highest rated cable news.
SO 20PER CENT OF AIR HEAD WATCH THEM
So the other 80% of airheads dont?
You my friend hit the nail squarely on its head!
I thoughht these guys were “Data Guys” – and that Romney waas a Data driven person. If that’s true – then how did they miss the mark on the Data. Or was it just hype and wishful thinking.
Lets not kid ourselfs – these guys were way off the mark in their predictions and statements. I sat through Dick Morriss comments to Shawn and even Shawn was taken aback by Morris predictions – but feed into them just the same.
Seems that a lot was riding on feelings and not facts.
Take loser Juan Williams with you. Fox is going downhill. I seldom watch Fox and never watch their competition. You’re better off avoiding all of it. Remember back when big media told us the 1980 election would be very close? It went 44 to 6 if I remember correctly. I don’t know how the other seven states voted. Walter Cronkite, the “most trusted man in America” said it was “too close to call.” The big three networks aren’t too believable, either…Robert Bork R.I.P. Those who voted against him should’ve been thrown out of there the next election.
What OTHER 7 States? Last time I looked there were 50 states, 44+6=50.
Ask the Prez…he’s the one who claimed there were 47!
Oops…gremlins at work! 57 states according to Obama, not 47.
It was impossible for Rove or Miller to foresee the extent of the ballot manipulation by the democrats in those districts of the vital swing states that were instrumental to Obama’s election. I admit, the democrat election officials’ skills in “finding” votes for Obama and losing votes for Republicans was something to behold. Hopefully Republicans have learned their lesson. It doesn’t matter who votes..just who counts the votes.
You are a very funny person. I believe I had to suffer through 8 years with a mental deficient as president due to Republican Supreme Court stacking in the year 2000.
I agree with the comment ‘it does not seem to matter who votes only who counts them’. The level of corruption in our American society is beyond the tipping point to borrow a phrase. The corrupt politicians are ‘boiling a frog’ and we are the frog. Slow gradual erosion of our the constitution and protection against the tyranny of government. I’m glad to see folks get mad on the air and stand up for what they believe. Just because Rove or Morris see it differently than the corrupt Democrates that doesn’t make them not corrupt it. In fact my sense is both parties are corrupt to the core. We likely will need a major break down in finance or the economy before we get the changes we need. We have a solid map to follow in the constitution if we can stop cheating the system and have real consequences for the corruption. Both of the dominate parties are consumed with corruption at every level. New organizations are needed to replace what we have grown used to.
Comparing Fox News people with those of MSNBC, ABC, CBS, and NBC the Fox folks come out leading the pack! I NEVER, I said NEVER watch those “other” networks ~ just my own local stations. These two men made mistakes….the other anchors do not make mistakes, they LIE!!!!
The inmates continue to run the asylum.
Looks like I will act like the Amish for the next 2 years Not pay attention to politics then vote for new people next election. My TV watching consists of The Five and the No Spin Zone.
Whenever I watch MSNBC I feel like I should go to confession. Listening to what comes out of the mouths of the hosts is vile.
Face it, anybody that watches Fox’s inuendo, half truths, propaganda and outright lies is watching it because that is what they want to hear. It is the world they way they want to perceive it. The genius of Fox is that at first they tell you they are the only place you can hear the real truth. Once they have you believing that, they can tell you anything they want and you swallow it hook, line and sinker. It is a sad statement on our society that so many people listen and believe the tripe they are feeding you. Sheeeeessssshhhhh!!!!
Looks like Fox is now becoming like NBC MSNBC,ABC. CBS,CNN, in NOT wanting the truth to be told.
They have sold out.
Now I don’t know where to go for the TRUTH.Got rid of Glenn because the Saudis found him to be to truthfull, And he was exposing there connection to Barack and his connection to them. SICK BUNCH.
So GLENN BECK will be my only source in hearing the truth.
BYE BYE FOX.
