What an era we live in, we’re supposed to get excited about “Homeland” and a pathetic 2.3 million viewers.
Honestly, more people watch “Pawn Stars,” and the like.
All the best to “Dexter” though, which always had kind an anti-mainstream feel, making it challenging to grab audiences. It does so well, considering the circumstances.
The History channel is included in a basic cable package, Showtime isn’t. So yes, 2.3 million viewers on a premium station is something to be excited about.
No, it isn’t…
More people watch “Spartacus” and it never won a single award. “Homeland” has won a ton of awards and the ratings are pathetic.
Seriously, the so called “best show on TV” can’t even keep up with the “Game of Thrones” of the world in the ratings. Show is WAY over-hyped…
Homeland requires a more sophisticated audience. Homeland doesn’t attract the average American. Pawn Stars requires not thought or effort to watch.
The 2nd season finale of Homeland will have people talking for months. The more you talk about Sunday’s finale with others, the better it becomes.
Similar to the 1998 Seinfeld series finale – it didn’t play well when you watched it but the more you think about it you begin to realize it’s genius.
