Oh, I’m so tired of Les Miserables. It’s just everywhere. For weeks. Anne, Huch, endless interviews, red carpets, behind-the-scenes. They do want those Oscars so much, do they. Just begging for it. I don’t think there was this big promotion campaign even for Dark Knight.
It’s overexposed. They stick to you Les Meserables trailer and interviews and you want to see it. But when it happens for weeks non-stop then you are just tired of it and get annoyed. And movie is not even out yet! But we feel that we already saw it. They show clips, trailers, actors spill everything in interviews, Anne herself spoiled some death that will happen in the movie. I will go see it. But I feel like I already saw it.
Sorry you feel that way. It is the nature of the beast, and all the studios are promoting their films like crazy. If you are familiar with the novel or musical, you know about Anne Hathaway’s character’s circumstances.
I don’t think it is overexposed. It is hard to be a theater geek in Texas. I have never been to New York, but a tour of Les Mis was the first show I saw in a theater(in 1990 – I was 15). I have since seen 5 productions and it is my favorite musical(we skrimp and save for tickets to Dallas Summer Musical every year). I have wanted to share my love of this musical with friends and family, but haven’t been able to until now. I hope that this is a highly successful film so that Hollywood will go on to produce Miss Siagon and other shows complete with the original music. The more I see of the trailers, the better this show looks to me. I can’t wait to take my kids(although they already know the music- Mom’s been singing it for years!).
