EXCLUSIVE: Piper Perabo, the star of USA’s spy drama Covert Affairs, will be moonlighting on the therapy comedy Go On, which airs on USA’s sister network NBC. Perabo has been tapped for a high-profile three-episode arc on the freshman NBC comedy starring Matthew Perry as Ryan King, a sportscaster coping with the death of his wife with the help of a support group. Perabo will play Simone – a former member of the group who returns to therapy and who develops a relationship with Ryan. Fun fact – Covert Affairs, which has been renewed for a fourth season, was originally developed for NBC before moving to USA. In features, UTA-repped Perabo was recently seen in Looper.

Another fun fact Nellie-it’s probably for the best that Covert Affairs moved to USA. These days, anything airing on NBC doesn’t exactly guarantee success. Just airing on Nbc is enough for a program to fail these days. With only a few programming exceptions,Nbc’s reputation is in the toilet. Having said all that, I don’t watch Go On,but, I may tune in to watch this beautiful lady in action.
I love Piper…I will enjoy seeing her with Matthew Perry. Can’t wait!
There’s no such thing as a “high profile arc” on “Go On.”
Actually due to football, the residual effect of the Olympics, the success of The Voice and Revolution NBC is the number one network this fall. It loses Thursday but does well enough in the demo with most of its shows to finish on top. CBS cancelled Made in Jersey and Partners, ABC hasn’t given back nines to 666 Park Avenue and Last Resort, FOX is letting The Mob Doctor die in December, The CW has given up on Emily Ownens MD. Aside from Animal Practice (which would have aired all its produced episodes but for Sandy interrupting programs) the freshman shows on NBC have been doing well. NBC always leads in the number of pilots ordered each year, so will always have more to cancel. Last year CBS ordered 7 pilots to air, NBC ordered 17. The idea the NBC is a failing network stems from how far its Thursday rating fell when compared to Friends/time slot failure/Seinfeld/time slot failure/ER, but those days are long gone with all networks, NBC used to cancel 8.30 and 9.30 Thursday shows that would be #1 shows now.
Gorgeous girl… But this photo. Yikes.
