That’s the guaranteed minimum for Scarlett Johansson for her role as Maggie in the Broadway revival of Tennessee Williams’ Pulitzer classic, but she could earn more if the play does well, according to offering papers obtained by Bloomberg News. Johansson also gets 7.5% of ticket sales above $530,000 (after deducting for commissions and averaged over four weeks). Once investors are paid 10% beyond their initial outlay, her take rises to 10% of grosses plus 5% of profit, according to Bloomberg. Weekly sales must average $750,211, excluding credit card commissions, to repay investors over the 15-week run. Al Pacino is getting one of Broadway’s top pay packages for Glengarry Glen Ross with a guaranteed weekly minimum of $125,000 plus 5% of profits. Cat On A Hot Tin Roof will begin preview performances December 18 and is slated to open January 17.

Oh how I envy this woman.
Makes sense. She IS the highest-paid actress in the film industry (probably the world) right now. I’ll bet the crowds will be coming to see her far more than Al Pacino.
I hope she doesn’t give her typical wooden performance. The NY Theatre Critics are merciless- especially towards Hollywood movie stars. Just ask Julia Roberts. They ate her for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Trust me, Roberts will never act on stage again. Who said Johannson is the highest paid actress in Hollywood ? Al Pacino is a classically trained theatre actor that has a huge following.
20 million for “Avengers 2″
Lol. She won a tony for her stage work. She has nothing to worry about. Scarlett continues to prove her detractors wrong…
she won a tony in 2010, she can handle the critics alright.
The highest paid actress in Hollywood? well, that I’m curious about.. because of Avengers?
TP,
You’re obviously unaware that SJ did A VIEWS FROM THE BRIDGE on Bway a few years ago to rave reviews, SRO and a Tony Award.
