On The X Factor‘s official U.S. Twitter page today, Simon Cowell bid farewell to fellow judge LA Reid. “On a personal level, I’m going to miss @LA_Reid. On a business level, I’m also going to miss him,” it was tweeted that Cowell said this afternoon during a press conference. This is the first time Cowell has addressed Reid’s exit from the Fox competition show since the Epic Records chairman announced his departure December 13. Reid was the only judge besides show creator Cowell to return for Season 2. The X Factor wraps up its second season this week.

The show is a complete mess.
The shows panel has 4 judges and in two seasons they’ve fired 3 and 1 has decided to leave. Not to mention they’ve also fired a host and hired one that SHOULD be fired (yes, Khloe you’re terrible).
With a lifeless Britney Spears and Demi Lovato who has to make a major pop career for herself the show needs yet another overhaul.
Simon is so completely out of touch with what viewers want its painful. How the supposed heir apparent to Idol can’t even surpass The Voice is really sad.
Drop the per-recorded backing vocals, fire Khloe and just let Mario host, fire Demi and get someone who can a platinum selling album, stop with the fake edited rivalries and just people SING!
Yeah. Fire Demi. Her music career is hardly big enough for her to be critiquing singers. Imagine if she had to mentor the over 25s? lol. Britney too. She’s lifeless, and I think there’s something wrong with her. Fire Khloe. Let Mario host alone.

Why do we still care about the X Factor? Its an average show and a failure when you look at all the pre show hype. Fox please Just admit it! Just make Simon Cowell go back to Europe. All his shows are a vehicle for him to enslave new talent to his label. He is a boring self obsessed cynical man who can’t help being smug. He has jumped the shark. ………but very rich on the back of it!
Grrrr! Arrrgh! This show makes me so angry!
This show desperately needs to make all-around changes, from the judges to the hosts and the concept as a whole, if it wants to gain some traction for season three. THAT’s where this show needs to improve upon. If not, season three will be its last one.
For me X Factor season 2 has been a mixed bag
Demi Lovato has been great – full of personality and holds her own against Simon. Britney on the other hand is just… weird. Barely says anything, always feels scripted and frankly doesn’t seem to know what’s going on. LA never seemed to get over being saddled with the ‘Olds’ and checked out at Judges’ Houses.
The leaderboard idea has proven to be a great format device and they’ve scheduled the double eliminations a lot better this year. The result shows feel more full and more eventful than Idol and The Voice.
Khloe is just wooden and has done nothing for the ratings. Mario is slick – but comes across as insincere.
The acts themselves? The Groups worked a lot better this year but there were too many weak contenders in the Top 10 – CeCe, Paige – who lasted too long. Lyric 145 went way too soon. I still don’t think Tate and Carly have the ability to really sell records – but Fifth Harmony and Emblem3 do. X Factor needs a US One Direction to really set itself up as a hit-making show.
I totally agree about Demi. She is great. I hope they keep her. Britney Spears has been really weird.
All of Demi’s acts are gone. She chose the weakest and least viable as finalists. She’s honest but also misguided. Demi’s can’t make a platinum selling album on her own so,how can she ‘mentor’ others?? Seriously, she’s on her 4th album and is still a C Lister. She’s NOT good for this show at all.
Get rid of them all. LA, Demi, Britney and yes even Simon. It’s a ratings disaster and Simon is phoning it in. Get Mel B/Scary Spice from Australian X or Gary Barlow from UK X because Simon is a phony.
I give the show one more season ….if its lucky.

I would much rather have heardthat the departing judge was Brittanay. I just can’t take her repetitiveness, and her facial expressions! UGH!!!
It seems like I’m alone in being a big fan of X-Factor this season. I think Demi Lovato is great. And I think the talent they’ve found this season is better than The Voice and recent American Idols. Carly Rose Sonenclar is pretty amazing. I agree that Khloe Kardashian is a terrible host and they should have Mario Lopez do it solo. But otherwise, I would keep things the way they are — keep Britney Spears (who steadily improved throughout the season) and Demi (who, as I mentioned above, is very sharp and funny). And Simon Cowell is still the best judge on any of these competition shows, hands down.
It’s very clear that the other posts on this site are written by NBC employees or people affiliated with The Voice.
Simon, here’s a free idea: have 3 regular judges and a 4th “guest judge” – different for each episode, or maybe have each guest judge to 2 episodes.
But there’s four categories that need mentoring so a 3 judge panel wouldn’t work. But i like your guest judge idea.
Get rid of Khloe Kartrashian. You’re only trying to capitalize on her alleged ‘fame’. Learn a lesson from the first season of AI – two co-hosts does not work. You need only one ringmaster. The loss of LA Reid is survivable (after all, Simon, AI has survived your departure). Just find someone with equal or better talent to be a judge.
notes: khloe must go immediately. brittany can be replaced by a more life-like CG brittany. demi must go. simon must come out of the frikken closet already. LA Reid was the only credible factor on the show.
How many versions of a “I got my singing lessons in the shower” show are there? 5, 7, 10?
Whoa… Ok some people need to chill out. I actually think this season was better than the last. Yes ok demi needs some work on mentoring but she’s growing and very relevant to todays music and she is actually the only Disney channel star that can genuinely sing. Brittany is actually a very good judge. She knows her stuff being one of the queens of pop… She knows her way around this business. I like Brittany a lot. Simon is actually a record producer so his judgement is actually VERY relevant and he’s a good recruiter to this industry. LA was a great judge but if he’s got other things to do then props to him and find another great judge. All these judges are great and to those that are being critical to the show… There’s a reason for why those four are judges and you’re not!! Love it xfactor… Doin a great job.
Oh yea… And of course I agree with everyone else. Get rid of khloe… Mario talks and has presence for the both of them
OMG… Can’t stand watching Khloe Kardashian with the stupid looks on her face rubbing everyones backs and asking stupid questions. There is a knack to hosting and she sure doesn’t have it. Mario has the talent to host solo and is very likeable and pleasant to look at. Also, it would be nice if the audience didn’t scream through the whole show! Very annoying.
did anyone hear her response to what her favorite moment of the season was? so generic and insincere! no wonder fox and her bf are dumping her at the same time.
I think the show could need a tune up.
Get rid of kloe, and Britney.
Hire mr.x as a new judge.
