Arsenio Hall‘s new syndicated late-night talk show will look a lot like the old one, with the same name, The Arsenio Hall Show, and the “Woof, Woof, Woof!” chant in full force. That’s according to the first promo for the show, titled “The Legend Is Back,” which reveals September 9 as its premiere date next fall. The CBS TV Distribution project took off after a deal with the Tribune stations in April. It was subsequently cleared in most of the country.

He’s back! And so what. Why does Hollywood refuse to “discover” contemporary talent. True words like talent, new , fresh are alien to the minds, hearts, souls or vocabulary of H-agents.
Some people say, “Who cares?”
Nothing breeds excitement like promoting the fact that you have nothing new to offer. Times change.
Didn’t watch first time around, so it’ll all be new to me!!

Seeing 40 and 50 year old women “woofing” is disturbing
They chose the wrong VO guy for the spot. Countered the video and too comedic sounding and spoiled the end.
While I definitely think Arsenio will, once again, attract minority talent that would otherwise not get exposure on late-night television (a good thing, naturally), I think calling him a “legend” is ridiculous. The marketing folks are way overboard on that one.

A ‘legend’? More like a legendary egomaniac and jerk. Snark aside, it will be interesting to see if this show survives. No one under 35 knows who Arsenio Hall is, and few others care enough to remember.
I’m 20 and have been watching his old interviews on youtube. Arsenio knows how to do late night. WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF
No, no, no. Don’t be silly. His show was fun, that’s absolutely true, but as an interviewer, Hall was always too focused on what funny or cute thing HE could do next rather than really being engaged in what his guest was saying. But, you know, you didn’t watch “Arsenio” for the interview, you watched it for the party.
Conan used to have the same issue, but it was clear, beginning w/his Tonight Show stint, that someone sat him down and taught the guy how to interview and really be engaged in what his guests were actually saying. I couldn’t watch Conan’s NBC show — it was painful to see him try and interview or deliver a punchline in his monologue. But whatever training he got for the Tonight Show he’s taken to TBS. And on its best nights it — and I can’t believe this — feels like an episode of Carson.
If Arsenio can come close to that, perhaps he’ll earn a wide(r) audience.

This is weird. At least we will only have to put up with the new show for 8 or 9 weeks. Arsenio, what worked in 1990 won’t work today.
Weird dude, but I hope he succeeds. Somewhat disturbing promo….The chicks, his lipstick and VO all a little whack. An innovator, sure. A legend? Nope.
And, here I was, thinking that they would revamp his show, but it looks like it’s simply a revival of the old Arsenio Hall show.
Yet another program I don’t need to worry about missing.

I feel so enlightened. Previous to now, I had no idea Arsenio was a legend . Perhaps some clarification is in order. Is it a legend in his own mind,or, a legend-ary failure. Bringing back this show without bringing anything new to the table pretty much ensures this show will be gone very quickly.

Really cheesy which is a shame because I used to find his show entertaining when I was a little kid.
Wow!! Really, just wow!! Can’t believe someone actually got paid for this. Hands down the WORST promo ever!! “Return of the woof man”?! Seriously?? Who wrote that garbage?? A note to the tv promo execs who signed off on this…it’s 2012 biyaachhes, grow a pair.
The problem with the promo is that there’s a whole bunch of women doing the WOOF’s behind him. The WOOF’s are supposed to sound manly.

Sorry Chris, the REAL problem with the promo is that some old, out of touch white dude, who has no idea of current pop culture wrote it. It’s not the woof’s. This has got to be the corniest PROMO a black show host has ever made, and I’m a white guy.
