A few of the shows this season seem similar to a few shows I had pitched to this network a few years ago. Hmmmmmm
At least two-thirds of the pilots every year sound like something I’ve heard before.
You should have told them your script was an adaptation of a book – that’s what this year’s crop of TV execs have been told to look for in pilot considerations. Last year it was ‘get me more vampires and single mothers’, next year it will be ‘more Hunger Games with empowered twelve year olds.’
And the networks wonder why their industry is crumbling around them.
Bad Teacher sounds great I loved the film but I’m sure it’s a long shot as its female centric and single cam. Mom I want on the air cause of the mot charming actress ever, Anna Faris and it will be a good fit for 2 broke girls. Super Clyde sounds good as a sort of tv kick ass! Again it seems unlikely to make it to air. I’m excited for Beverly Hills Cop.
One drama written by a woman and one comedy. What gives CBS?
Mom will definitely be picked up because of Chuck Lorre. Calling it now
I’m pretty excited for Reckless just because I tend to like both law shows and shows set in the South.
Also the cast of Mom should make for a funny show.
Despite my hesitation to support a show written by Chuck Lorre (I like Big Bang Theory but Two and A Half Men and Mike and Molly are terribly abysmal), the concept of Mom seems engaging enough and then cast led by Anna Faris and Allison Janey sounds like a hit. Meanwhile, Crazy Ones seems amazing as well – Robin Williams, James Wolk, Sarah Michelle Geller, David E. Kelly – it has all the makings to be the next IT-sitcom. The concept of Super Clyde seems distinguished and I heard that the script is both hilarious and heart-warming. The McCarthy’s especially because of the casting of Jacki Weaver and Jack Lacy also sounds enticing enough. From the cast itself, the Untitled Rob Greenberg could be a serious contender and an extremely compatible follow-up to The Big Bang Theory. CBS has soo many great comedy pilots but only so much available comedy slots on its Fall Schedule (at most 3 if Friend Me and Rules of Engagement are cancelled). On the Drama side, the only pilots that seem vaguely interesting to me are The Anatomy of Violence (because of the Homeland producers/writers), Reckless (because I have an obsession with legal dramas) and Beverly Hills Cops (Because of Shawn Ryan’s flawless track-record and the possible starring of Eddie Murphy.
Can’t wait to see Ryan Hansen in Bad Teacher….such a great actor and still highly underrated.
The boss: Beverly Hills Cop (Shawn Ryan)
The deputy: Crazy Ones (David E. Kelley)
Honorable Mentions: Super Clyde (Greg Garcia), Anatomy of Violence (Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa) and Under the Dome.
THE NEW SPIOFF OF NCIS SOUNDS INTERTESTING SCOTT WOLFE AND GRANGER ———————————-
Does the untitled Tad Quill project sound just a little like the “Courtship of Eddie’s Father” or what?
Yes, but we won’t know for certain until the producers begin a casting call for middle aged actresses to play a housekeeper named Mrs Livingston. Once that happens, it flashback to 1969.
To be honest, I also thought the pilot for ‘Super Clyde’ sounds a little bit like a couple of TV comedies that aired in 1967 – ‘Captain Nice’, and ‘Mr Terrific’.
I guess we should be grateful – at least the creators of these series are getting inspiration from old TV shows, not yet another adaptation of a book and no one cared to read in the first place.
Where is “Vegas” ??? Loved it and want to see it come back !!!
A lot of us loved Vegas, but it was cancelled.
not one single asian actor?
