Oprah Winfrey’s two-part interview with Lance Armstrong is close to selling out commercial time at premium prices, Reuters reports. OWN President Erik Logan said current and new sponsors have been calling to secure ad time during the Oprah’s Next Chapter interview that will air in primetime Thursday and Friday. Armstrong, who has been stripped of his Tour de France titles, admitted to Winfrey that he had used performance-enhancing drugs after years of vehement denials. The Armstrong interview was originally slated to air in a single showing but Winfrey subsequently decided there was enough material to spread across two nights. Some of the time for the Armstrong interview was pre-sold to regular advertisers of Oprah’s Next Chapter but the remaining slots ares going for a premium. Logan declined to provide specifics.

Sometimes, it is not the best feeling living in America. Thus, I am sure we will see many more equally media/money driven events around Lance Armstrong.
And for those who have followed Lance Armstrong and his use of the media…this is all part of a bigger plan…to what…who knows…except Lance and his legal team.
Is Oprah just that desperate to rake in viewers and ad dollars by expanding this interview to two nights, for the mere aspect of gaining an uptick in the ratings? Once this concludes airing, it’s back to low ratings once again for her “network”.
I think you answered your OWN question.
Yes. Just like Peter Jackson was “desperate” to improve box office by splitting The Hobbit into a trilogy.
Although I won’t be among the viewers to watch the commencement of this turd polishing extravaganza, I do have a morbid curiosity about the ratings.
How can he lie like that.
