• Wow. Jurnee Smollett is smoking hot. Just beautiful. And she’s talented, too. (I really liked her turn in the under-appreciated Denzel Washington film, ‘The Great Debaters’) Can’t Hollywood find this talented and easy on the eyes young actress work befitting her prairie-wide talent?

  (As a side note, I always hear people say Hollywood is a tough place for women to get ahead in acting. If so, it must be a veritable hell for WOMEN OF COLOR. I mean who is writing/greenlighting stories with or for them? This is why I hate it when Hollywood goes nuts over films like ‘The Help’ because the roles of maids opens up vast opportunities for black women to be leading ladies. After that, the dearth of roles rears its ugly head again until the next stereotypical project comes up! Just some food for thought on MLK Jr. Day!)

• True Blood is beyond over but I love Jurnee Smollett and glad to see her working. I’m sure she’ll be underused and cast aside just like all the other people that have been cast for “arcs” on TB.

  That show is a mess that doesn’t even know what to do with their core regulars, let alone any of the new ones.
