Lance Armstrong confessed to Oprah Winfrey today in an interview that he used performance-enhancing drugs to win the Tour de France, The Associated Press reports, citing a person familiar with the situation. The interview is scheduled to be broadcast on OWN‘s Oprah’s Next Chapter on Thursday. The person told the AP the interview was “emotional at times” and followed an apology to the staff at the Livestrong Foundation that left several staff members in tears. It was anticipated that Armstrong would use the interview to come clean on allegations that led to his being stripped of all seven Tour titles last year following the damning U.S. Anti-Doping Agency report — allegations he consistently denied. USADA chief executive Travis Tygart labeled the doping regimen allegedly carried out by the U.S. Postal Service team that Armstrong once led, “The most sophisticated, professionalized and successful doping program that sport has ever seen.” Shortly after the interview, Winfrey tweeted: “Just wrapped with @lancearmstrong More than 2 1/2 hours . He came READY!” Winfrey is scheduled to appear on CBS This Morning tomorrow to discuss the interview.

Lance only admitted doing this so he can make money with a book deal “How I got addicted to Doping” and he hopes to redeem himself. Sorry dummy you are poison in the sports world and all this interview does is confirm everyone’s very low accurate opinion of you.
You will never compete again in any sanctioned cycle race so you can forget about that which is what you really want from this. Go audition for Dancing With The Stars they will be happy to have you it’s where you belong.
He can always go to work for Fox News, where the dregs of humanity always seem to wash up.

The only reason he admitted was because of the writing on the wall. He too said he would name names. No cred for “coming clean”. He’s the last of his team to do so.

Why should I watch the interview if its already on the internet 3 days prior?
Those kind of interviews should come live. Or at least air the next day. Not in 3 days. When stuff will spoil you.
I want to know if it was small confession like: “Yeah, I used some little illegal thing on my first Tour. But never after”. Or was it full blown confession. I feel like he would admit only partial doping. Like: “I didn’t know it was doping at the time” or something like that.
They could put him in prison like they did with Marion Jones if he fully confessed. That would be a mistake from him. And Lindsay Lohan still walks free… They can put Wesley Snipes, Marion Jones in prison. But Lohan can spit in the face of judge and still they offer her to go to rehab instead….
And yet just weeks ago he continued to lie about doping. I hope everyone he ever wronged or intimidated sues him and wins. I hope he is financially ruined. To call him a hypocrite is to be too kind. He is a bully and a bastard.
Maybe Lance can do the next season of Dancing with the Stars. Why he would sit with Oprah and admit his guilt on national TV is beyond me. This interview will do nothing to win back his public image as a celebrated athlete.
If Lance is going to commit to doing a sit down with Oprah he better take full responsibility and disclose EVERYTHING. If he’s gonna prance through tough questions and not really answer them then what a waste of time to anybody who supported him in the past.
