Lifetime said the new season will premiere March 10 at 9 PM and serve as a lead-in to the Season 2 premiere of drama The Client List. Army Wives went through a creative mini-revamp after last season, with four new characters — played by Ashanti, Torrey DeVitto and Elle McLemore — added as regulars. Original cast member member Kim Delaney departed and Sally Pressman is scaling back from series regular to recurring.

Typical Lifetime press release where no credit is given to creatives behind the project.
The creator of Army Wives was fired, the show has has had multiple showrunners as Lifetime treats them so badly. Finally there has been a talented showrunner on board for several seasons and they give the guy no credit. Is there are new showrunner and they’re hiding it? One of the many problems of working at Lifetime under any of their regimes is they want to disempower the creative people who create their content.
I have been a fan of this series since its debut but from what I am reading i am not going to like Season 7. Way to many changes and they seem to be going after so so talent. We shall see
I am thinking the same thing.
Ditto. I do not believe I will be a regular viewer after seeing this season, if I even make it that far.
Wow really people?? It is a show about military families… and you think that the cast isn’t going to change? No One stay to long in one place in the military! If you want the show to be as real as it can be then families need to come and go on the show!!!!!
Army Wives has no choice but to “transfer” or otherwise change the guard as is done ever day.
Must keep itvreal
Regarding character changes, actors/actresses also have choices about what they want to do…so those folks “running” the show are not the only ones to decide who will go and who will stay.
Jeff Melvoin is the show runner of Army Wives. He’s been at the helm of the series since Season 3. He’s regarded as one of the smartest, most respected writers and creative forces in the biz. Be assured, with Melvoin, any cast or creative changes will be seamless and will bring new energy and excitement to the show.
I wonder when Devious Maids will premiere?
I have watched the show since it’s first episode and I have to say that I love it! With that being said, the show has gone to pot since they took Pamela off. They need to get the five original Army Wives back together and get rid of all the new ones!
Totally agree. I have also watched from the beginning and loved the show. Why do you people always give us something we love and enjoy then tear the rug out in under of our feet. Please get back to original characters, stop with these changes. I certainly will not watch anymore, if this is what you bring to our living room just to take it away. Please the viewers as in the past.
No military base keeps all the same people at them. Soldiers get transferred, die and spouses leave the base. If they do not stay true to that, it would do the show such a big disservice, in my opinion.
Not sure why they would change the “core cast” and mess with the “heart and soul” of the series. I am not certain that it will have the same emotional pull. I just watched Season 1-6 and being a female veteran from the 70′s this series took me on a phenomenol journey. One I much needed at this stage of me life 6 seasons in a week. The bond was unbelievable and when I watched it the way I did. The studios will be hard pressed to fill the emotional ties that the initial cast provided . I saw that with just the change in the last season with Pamela being gone. Good Luck Army Wives writers, producers and directors! As for the fans I guess we just have to stay tuned to see where they take us
I am especially sad to hear that Roland (my favorite) will not be returing. And I didnt hear anything about Catherine Bell — isnt she coming back?
How can Roxy be recurring when she and Trevor moved to Oregon or Washington? Well we shall see.
I agree…I’m really not sure I’m going to like the changes…Claudia Joy was my favorite…do not understand why she left?
Being a retired army wife myself, I can relate to the show very much. I have watched all six seasons faithfully, and never missed an episode. Remember when the rumors were flying around that the show was gone forever after season 6? Well, people, let’s be thankful that the creative writers kept it alive and not be quick to judge the season before it begins. There are still some original cast members and let’s give the new ones a chance. My thanks to all involved in keeping the show on, and look forward to the return on March 10th.
If you have every lived a wife of a service man you know that people come and go. It’s part of the life. I do miss the original cast, but this is how life is. Give it a chance
I was a military wife and he is now retired. I have watched Army Wives from day one. You think you have changes well trying to be stationed at a base that is now multy service. You see all branches here since bases have closed. New people can be brought into the series as members from the other branches of the service not just Army. How would that be for confusion and added characters.
I totally agree. I am a retired Navy Chief and I never miss it. Being military related you have to make cast changes because that’s real life in the military. I love the old cast and I’m sure I’ll fall in love with the new cast also. Give them a change people. Have you not heard of vacations and people visiting – well that’s one way Roxy could show up. Can’t wait for it to start up again. Thanks for bringing it back!
I watched most of this show over the summer, catching up. As a former Army soldier and military wife, I enjoyed it and felt that most of it was close to what I saw (not completely accurate, but they have to depart from reality to keep the ratings up). Some of the comments are a little unrealistic. though. Unfortunately, if the show is going to mirror or resemble real life, the changing of cast members is going to continue. I was surprised that this group stayed together as long as they did, because normal stateside tours are 3-4 years. Everyone gets transferred, whether they like it or not, and most of the time, it’s from the US to overseas and then back, not necessarily from one stateside assignment to another.
I too have watched since the beginning. I am so looking forward to the next season. I am sure whoever they have writing or acting they will do a fantastic job. The old cast was great, the new one may be even better!!! Good Luck to all.
I have watched since the beginning, and I love the show. I am an Army Mom, and the one thing that I would like to see sometime in the future of the show, is the blight of the relatives of the single soldier. I was very fortunate when the first of my sons deployed. I had already been to visit him at his base, and had met some of the FRG ladies. Not all families are in touch with FRG (often times the soldiers don’t realize the importance of this group). With new characters coming in, this subject might be something that could be explored.
Keep up the good work, and I look forward to the new season.
I have watched and loved the show from the beginning. With the upcoming changes, I’ll probably opt to continue watching The Good Wife on CBS in this time slot. It is also a good show and they’re smart enought to leave the main characters alone.
Haven’t you heard of a DVR? What both!
I mean WATCH – sorry.
My best friend is going to be in a few shows in this new season!!!! I am definitely gonna be watching!!!
hi, i am a big fan of the show army wives and i just heard that your best friend will be in some of them? can you tell me her name so i can watch her up on the big screen? thanks!
I have watched Army Wives faithfully since day 1! ! I absolutely love every character. We all have a tendency to get attached to the original cast but I am looking forward to the new season and hope the show never goes off!!!
i cant beleive that claudia joy is going to die! I dont kniow if i will really like not having her in the show… with all the new characters coming the show will be changed completley, i mean we already had jeremy and pamela leave, now we are going to have claudia joy? this is going to chsnge the whole outlook on the whole series. i hope that this series will still be good. i love this show.
i hope that this show will still be good after she dies.. it just wont be that good. but this is my favortie show ever..
i have watched this show from the very begginging.. all 104 episodes. i have loved every minute of it! it has practically became my life! i am excited to see al the new characters but i am sad that everything is going to change. i liked it the old way it used to be. i just hope it will be just as good as it was in all six seasons before it
MY SON HAS BEEN IN THE AIR FORCE FOR THE PAST 11 YEARS & IS NOW OVERSEAS FOR 4 YEARS. ARMY WIVES MAKES ME FEEL I AM PART OF HIS LIFE IN THE SERVICE & IT REMINDES ME & EVERYONE ELSE WHAT THESE SERVICE FAMILIES GO THROUGH. VERY GOOD & INFORMATIVE SHOW.
Think Army wives is going down hill without the orginal cast. They were great.
Seriously crap… Why change all the characters with one season left
I love the show it has made me admire the army life and the bond they shared i dont know if the coming new season will impact m the same way n if changing the major xters is so easy y dont they choose m 2 to play as a major xter
I just hope it will be as good a the last ones has been.
Though I’m now an army wife, my husband was in Iraq for seven years as a government contractor. I could relate to the separation anxiety that husbands and wives feel when apart. Watching this show helped me to feel not alone and got me through a tuff time of my life. Each cast member has done a marvelous job in bringing us in to their life. Thank you for keeping it real. I don’t like the change in cast members, but like real life, changes is just the way life is, weather we like it or not. We adapt and I’m sure I’ll learn to love the new members as well.
I love ArmyWives!! What channel is season 7 going to be playing? Is it already playing? Need help! Thanks.
So sad to hear there will be so many changes
I’ve watched this series religiously since the very 1st episode and actually came across this trying to find out when the next season will air.I always check and mark it on the calendar (•_•)
I absolutely adore the original cast members, such a diverse group that become so close and just made it hard not to fall on love w/the characters. It’s always sooo hard adjusting to changes when it involves the cast and characters of a show you love..Hope there will still be some original cast members..Roxy and Trevor are definitely my faves.Just the changes that were already being made was quite an adjustment for me, too much too fast.I love the show and will definitely be tuning in, just hope all the changes don’t make me fall out of love as quickly as I fell in love!
i love army wives, iam ready for it to come back on im curious to find out what happens if the plane goes down and who will die.
I loved the original cast. It’s hard to like a show when everyone you’ve grown to love leaves. I stopped watching it weekly when Brigid Brannagh (Pamela) left.
