ABC has given a pilot order to Mixology, a single-camera comedy pilot from feature writers Jon Lucas and Scott Moore (The Hangover, The Change-Up) and ABC Studios. Set in the world of a sexy Manhattan bar, the high-concept comedy chronicles the exploits of singles in search of love– all over the course of one night. ABC landed Mixology in a competitive situation, giving the project a put pilot commitment in October. Mixology joins ABC comedy pilots How the F Am I Normal and Trophy Wife.
Lucas and Moore, repped by CAA and Warren Dern, recently finished editing their feature directorial debut, 21 And Over, starring Skylar Astin, Miles Teller and Justin Chon, which is due out in the spring.

Hangover, Mixology…anyone see a pattern here? Stay tuned for “AA” and “Rehab.”
why do these guys feel the need to make EVERY STORY be within 24 hours? They’re making their signature device such a cliche.
I was under the impression that the show was filmed in real time, and the season took place within 24 hours.
Even worse. There has been at least 2 comedies based around the “real time” conceit (Jake In Progress and Watching Ellie). Both shows quickly dropped the gimmick and quickly flopped.
How the F Am I Normal and Trophy Wife weren’t the only other pilot orders. Didn’t Safe at Home get one. Also, I heard Amanda Peet was in contention for that one. Always have been a fan of her.
What About Super Fun Night?
these guys, lucas and moore, are getting waaaaaay too much mileage from their association as the “original” scribes of the hangover. i read their version of the movie and it was, frankly, underwhelming.
the punch up done by Jeremy Gerelick and the director, todd phillips, was the cinematic haymaker that ko’d the box office and set all kinds of records. talk about night and day. how the W.G.A. ruled against gerelick for screenplay credit still astounds me!
It reads like they wrote the script in one night.
“ABC landed Mixology in a competitive situation” makes a nice epitaph for network television.
