EXCLUSIVE: Breaking Bad may be getting The Walking Dead treatment for the upcoming conclusion of the series’ fifth and final season with a companion talk show. I’ve learned that AMC is planning a live after-show to accompany the final eight episodes of Vince Gilligan’s dark drama starring Bryan Cranston. In the mold of Talking Dead, I hear the Breaking Bad talk show would be titled Talking Bad and also be half-hour. Michael Davies’ Embassy Row, which produces Talking Dead, would also handle Talking Bad.
Talking Dead is AMC’s first live after-show where the latest episode of hit zombie drama The Walking Dead is recapped and developments are discussed with Walking Dead actors, producers as well as fans. Hosted by Chris Hardwick, Talking Dead airs Sundays, immediately following the encore presentation of The Walking Dead. It premiered in 2011, in conjunction with the second season of Walking Dead.

Just keep Hardwick away from this. That Adam’s Apple is mad scary yo!
Hardwick is one of the nicest, more sincere fellas in Hwood.
It’s all hot air…
I am so sick of these “Talking…” shows. While Breaking Bad is a show that is ACTUALLY worthy of it’s own talk show, it is superfluous fluff, and dead air time. And Chris Hardwick will always be “The G4 guy”, definitely not the right guy to host a breaking bad special of any kid. Terrible decisions by AMC.
So don’t watch it? I am sick of the disgusting amount of reality tv bullshit on the air, but I don’t whine about it. I just watch different stuff.
The Talking Dead is awful. AMC, don’t ruin the viewing experience of a smart show like Breaking Bad with what will inevitably be a terrible, terrible talk show. HEY GUYS, WASN’T IT COOL HOW – no one cares. Spare me some C list celebrity fan’s epiphany.
You aren’t seeing the big picture here. Talking Dead has the actual actors from the show on the panel most of the time. But the thing is most of the walking dead actors are boring in real life.
To have a Talking Bad panel where Cranston, Aaron Paul, Bob Odenkirk, and Anna Gunn sit in and chat about the show would be AWESOME. Go buy the Breaking Bad blurays and listen to the commentary tracks and they are all GREAT. It’s like hanging out with the crew and Cranston is a funny motherf-cker in real life. He takes a humorous approach when describing his own scenes or adding in his own funny voiceovers for the show.
Any panel with Cranston on it is hilarious. He’s a really funny guy in real life. Same with Odenkirk.
If that’s what the show turns out to be it’ll be greatness. I watch all the extras for Breaking Bad anyway so I rather just have a show dedicated to all the extras.
You can’t say the Breaking Bad actors are too famous or busy because The Walking Dead gets almost 4x the viewership than Breaking Bad and those actors were on the show. Everyone except Andrew Lincoln (who still did an interview with Chris Hardwick for the show)
I would like to see a Talking Bad series as long as it doesn’t replace the far superior Insider Podcasts that Kelley Dixon produces with weekly participation by Vince Gilligan. Those are really awesome discussions about the show, way better than the Talking Dead segments which are fun, but not nearly as interesting or informative as the Insider Podcast hour long discussions about the making of the Breaking Bad episodes.
Brilliant show! I hate to see it go.
This is an incredible idea! I posted the very same title for such a show on the BREAKING BAD discussion boards! I can’t wait! The idea is mine! I hope Hardwick hosts. TALKING DEAD is great. Yay! Whee!
Breaking Bad, is the best written show on TV. If I had my way, I’d give the “Oscar” to Brian Cranston (Best Actor) and Aaron Paul (Supporting).
“Oscars” for Vince Gilligan, and his staff of writers. I am sorry to see this show go…..
I am also a “Walking Dead” fan. AMC, why do you continue to FAWK, with the directors on this show. You have a HUGE, fan base. FFS, leave it alone.
Oscars are for films, Emmys are for television. Cranston has won three and Paul two Emmys, but it is ridiculous that the series lost the Best Drama Emmy to Homeland (and Mad Men before that). Best show on television and it deserves all the awards!
@ Emile “Oscar” was my metaphor to say, the acting by all, writing and directing on BB, is “Oscar” worthy. To also say, the show is far above the “EMMY,” way above.
I hate him and everything nerdist. Keep him away from breaking bad.
Great idea! To the people who hate the idea, no one’s making you watch it. I love TWD and have tuned in for a couple of episodes of TTD and it’s pretty cool. I like to stay somewhat spoiler free, though, and sometimes the writers/producers give away a little too much for my tastes. But it’s neat when they have celebrity guests that love the show as much as the rest of us.
I think it would be better if it’s called “Talking Bad Yo!” and be hosted by Aaron Paul in Jessy’s character.
I *like* Chris Hardwick. He seems like a really nice guy. (Maybe to a fault.) I *like* NERDIST. And I watch “Talking Dead”, even though it’s mostly fluff. The problem with Chris Hardwick + “Talking Dead” is it’s an AMC show that supports their big cash cow and thus, no one can be REALLY honest about what they think about the latest episode. People criticize Hardwick for liking EVERYTHING/EVERYONE, for not talking trash about ANYTHING/ANYONE, but I think he’s a perfect product of the entertainment industry in this respect. So there is a limit to how interesting a show like “Talking Dead” can get.
BREAKING BAD, however, is a far superior show. The writing, directing, performances are so much better than WALKING DEAD. It’s a show that actually deserves extra analysis. I think there’s potentially more that could be discussed in each episode.
That sounds awsome ! I hope that Chrís Hardwick hosts the show.
I like the way he hosts ‘talking dead’.

Those shows are a waste
