The issue came up today during a CNN town hall staff meeting when soon-to-be-network president Jeff Zucker was asked his thoughts about the network expressing opinion. Zucker said he supported it where appropriate, noting Piers Morgan’s on-air advocacy for gun control, Politico reports, citing network sources. Morgan has emerged as a vocal advocate for gun control following the Newtown elementary school shooting and has had heated exchanges with gun rights supporters on his Piers Morgan Tonight. One staffer at today’s meeting described Zucker’s support for Morgan’s position as “clear and unequivocal”, according to Politico.

If Piers Morgan had been around in 1776 he would have wanted those pesky colonist’s to give up their flintlock’s and kiss a little royal hynie. Result; NO AMERICA. Good in the mind’s of some,and while NO nation is perfect, I like to think we may have done one or two thing’s over the year’s that made the world a hell of a lot better to live in.

I agree – I dont understand why people cant comprehend that the founding fathers wrote these documents over 2 centuries ago. They couldnt possibly envision what life is like today and how things have changed and I cant imagine theyd want us to still be living according to 1776 rules. The reason for guns in 1776 were a lot different than the reasons for guns too. (Ironically also while the NRA tried to blame video games for violence, they just released a shooting iPhone app – hypocrisy anyone?)…Anyway , people have the right to guns and I think thats ok – youre not going to change the US culture overnight (even though people in other countries think we’re crazy)..but some legitimate restrictions could be put in place…Even many gun enthusiasts agree …You dont need automatic weapons and machine guns to kill a deer or protect your home. The constitution has to evolve – were dealing with things like computers, cars, cell phones and so much more that they couldnever have imagined. anyone on the quest for world power like zucker & piers are pro gun control, pro united nations, etc. and eventually, once the case is raised for ‘one world religion’ they’ll be in support for that as well. and congress will absolutely be in support for all of the above. baffles me that people are outraged when these exact issues and outcomes were prophecy ages ago. angry birds > reading

In countries where weapons are banned, madmen strap bombs to themselves and in many cases do far more damage than any gun would. In most cases a violent gun crime ends when the second gun arrives. Guns are not the cause of these horrendous crimes and stricter gun control will do little or no good. The government is taking advantage of tragedy to infringe on our rights and gain more power.

I still have no idea why they hired Piers – Wh omade that stupid decision. I never watch the show anymore cuz hes so annoying, full of himself, pompous and rude. Hes more of a Donald Trump carnival barker but then he did do the Apprentice and Americans Got Talent and Britains Got Talent and got into scandal when he was a UK newspaper editor. This is a guy we want to give our most important time slot and marquee show to? A reality hack and former tabloid reporter? I wish the neew regime would get rid of him.
