Viral hit Drunk History is becoming a TV series. Comedy Central has given an eight-episode series pickup to the project after originally ordering a pilot presentation in the spring. The announcement was made at TCA where the network also said it has ordered Seasons 4 and 5 of Workaholics for a total of 26 episodes.

Drunk History, produced by by Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Chris Henchy’s Gary Sanchez Prods. The trio will executive produce with Derek Waters, creator of the Drunk History series of shorts, Jeremy Konner, who directed them, and Owen Burke. Like the Web series, Drunk History, which will premiere in the summer, will feature historical reenactments by A-list talent serving as inebriated storytellers. “Will and I have always believed booze brings out truth,” McKay said. “Sometimes that truth involves hitting on airport bar janitors or eating cheese fries at 4 a.m. But in this case, we hope that truth will shine on our nation’s history.”

I can’t think of a single show with more genuine laughs per minute than Workaholics. Smart, silly, original and insane. So psyched for more!
I have never actually watched an ntire show – HOWEVER, I was doinf the dishes when the last episode was on – just caught the scene where one of the characters was petending he was going to rob and kill everyone and in order to stop him from killing evryone the boss (I guess he was the boss) had to pick the noses of his employees and EAT THEM – which he did – UGH – DISGUSTING – SICK – ugh UGH Not funny – anyone who enjoys this show is an FNNN idiot!
Workaholics is one of the funniest most original shows on any channel right now. Love the writing, acting, and music! How about a Workaholics feature film a la Beavis?
The dad dick conversation was the funniest thing I’ve seen in a long time and it was a great way into the episode, in fact Meat Jerking Beef Boys was the best episode of comedic television last year.
+1 to that brother. Workaholics is easily the funniest tv show I’ve ever seen
Agreed, Workaholics is highly entertaining! I am glad for its success and will keep watching it as long as the comedic quality does not deteriorate.
Can someone explain how a network renews a series for 4th and 5th seasons when the 4th season is shot and ready for broadcast starting next week?
Or are these winter episodes the back half of the 3rd season?
Nellie,
The format of the DRUNK HISTORY shorts is people getting REALLY loaded then telling their drunken versions of historical things as the name actors act out the story being told complete with lip synching the drunk’s version.
It’s great in short bursts but how will they bring this to series?
What are the details? I’d imagine some changes will be necessary, no?
Back end of season 3
I honestly think Workaholics is incredibly stupid, but there is not really anything that can be done to stop it.
Amen, 3 unlikable characters with a very loose plot and jokes plucked out of bong water. It’s not a show for the post college crowd. Their demo says it all.
What do you two laugh at? This is a serious question. I think workaholics is great and I think it’s more intelligent than you’re giving it credit for…
Workaholics is great because its created by four great guys with great chemistry – each one crazy funny and very likable. And they’ve found a way to put that on screen.
Drunk History will be a hit for the same reason – a creator who’s talented and genuine.
Looking forward to both!
