Core Media Group has signed a pact with Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner’s Hazy Mills Prods., the company behind NBC’s Grimm and TV Land’s Hot In Cleveland and The Soul Man, to develop scripted and unscripted series as well as original digital content. The agreement is outside of Hazy Mills’ existing overall deal with Universal Television for projects that wouldn’t be suitable for the broadcast-focused studio, like cable series and digital projects. In fact, Hayes and Milliner developed Hot In Cleveland while they were under a deal at CBS TV Studios and took it out on their own when it didn’t go as a broadcast comedy. The project became an instant hit at TV Land and has spawned a spinoff, Soul Man. The pact reunites Hayes and Milliner with Core president Marc Graboff who was a top executive at NBC when they signed a deal there. Under its pact at Uni TV, Hazy Mills is producing a comedy pilot starring Hayes and hour-long game show series Hollywood Game Night for NBC.
