HBO has given the green light to Togetherness, a single-camera comedy pilot written, directed and executive produced by brothers Mark and Jay Duplass. It follows two couples living under the same roof who struggle to keep their relationships alive while pursuing their individual dreams. I hear filming is eyed to begin in April, with no plans for Mark, who is also an actor, to star. Duplass Brothers Prods’ Stephanie Langhoff co-executive produces the project, which indie filmmakers the Duplass brothers wrote on spec.
HBO has been very active on the development front recently, greenlighting a slew of pilots, most on the comedy side. That includes a half-hour from David Marshall Grant, Sarah Condon and Andrew Haigh; People In New Jersey, written and executive produced by Bruce Eric Kaplan, with Jason Reitman set to executive produce and direct and Lorne Michaels on board to executive produce; Silicon Valley, a single-camera dark comedy pilot from King Of The Hill‘s Mike Judge, John Altschuler and Dave Krinsky; as well as Hello Ladies, which has already been picked up to series; and Getting On. Christopher Guest’s Family Tree received a straight-to-series order.

Good on the Duplass Bros. “Jeff Who Lives At Home” & “The Do-Decca-Pentathlon” were both good character studies, I have high hopes for them at HBO.
one made 10 grand total in box and the other tanked less so but still tanked. Why do these dudes keep getting deals?
Good for the Duplass Bros and Langhoff. They’re a fearless creative team. Excited to hear more about this show!
Hey everyone, lets find out what their parents do and accuse them of using nepotism to get ahead! Then let’s claim we hate their trite mumble core tone! And then let’s obsess over how they are white and ugly!!
Good job HBO.
