The first trailer for the Colin Farrell-starring Dead Man Down dropped today. Niels Arden Oplev directed the crime thriller, about a professional killer and right-hand man to an underground New York crime lord who’s seduced and blackmailed by a crime victim seeking retribution. The latter juicy role is being played by Noomi Rapace, who did the Swedish Girl With The Dragon Tattoo pic with Oplev. Terrence Howard and Dominic Cooper co-star in Dead Man Down, which was penned by J.H. Wyman, who co-produced with Neal H. Moritz. FilmDistrict has set a March 8 release for the movie, a month earlier than originally planned.

I want to like this… But I just don’t see Farrell as a lead action hero. If Pitt bombed in Killing Me Softley, I don’t see this revenge pic doing much better.
While he has charisma, unfortunately Farrell is a kiss of death at the box office. I’m surprised producers haven’t paired him with Gerard Butler or Clive Owen yet for the ultimate BO poison!
For true BO death it also has to have Jeremy Renner, Shia Laboeuf and Sam Worthington.
Shia LaBeouf is not box office poison
Exactly
People went for the Transformers, not Shia LaBoeuf. You seriously want to make him your marquee name? Good luck with that.
Shia was the best part of Transformers.
Michael Bay is crap. He ruined them.
Just your average blood soaked numbing action film with lots of slow motion carnage. Sad state of entertainment.
Yeah. But good lighting.
It looks like an amazing stylistic noir.
See this to support true cinema.
Looks like it could be good – love the music and I like watching Farrell – I know some of his films haven’t made as much as they should but I always end up seeing them anyways. 7 Psychopath’s was amazing. I’ll check this one out, too.
7 Psychopaths was great, but that was due to Rockwell, Walken & Harrison. Farrell basically played the straight man.
Was there just a trailer for the trailer before the trailer started? Far out, man. Far. Out.
I think this film is going to Rock. Farrell is a action hero. Must be a lot of old dudes on here!
