Fox News Channel announced today it has brought former Congressman Dennis Kucinich on board as contributor to the top-rated cable news network. He will debut Thursday night on The O’Reilly Factor. “I’ve always been impressed with Rep. Kucinich’s fearlessness and thoughtfulness about important issues,” said Fox News chairman and CEO Roger Ailes in a statement Wednesday. The strongly liberal Kucinich had represented Ohio’s 10th District since 1997, but he lost his seat in redistricting in during the fall elections. He ran unsuccessfully for president in 2004 and 2008. Here’s FNC announcement:
FOX News Channel (FNC) has signed former two-time presidential candidate and former U.S. Representative Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) as a contributor in a multi-year deal, announced Bill Shine, Executive Vice President of Programming for the network. Kucinich will provide analysis and commentary across FNC’s daytime and primetime programming, as well as on Fox Business Network (FBN). He will make his debut in the new role on The O’Reilly Factor (8:00 PM/ET) this Thursday, January 17th.
Adding to the announcement, Roger Ailes, Chairman and CEO, FOX News, said, “I’ve always been impressed with Rep. Kucinich’s fearlessness and thoughtfulness about important issues. His willingness to take a stand from his point of view makes him a valuable voice in our country’s debate.”Kucinich commented, “Through 16 years in Congress and two presidential campaigns, FOX News has always provided me with an opportunity to share my perspective with its enormous viewership. I look forward to a continuation of our relationship this time as a FOX News contributor.”
Most recently, Kucinich served as a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives for Ohio, representing Ohio’s 10th congressional district, for sixteen years from 1997 to January 2013. Furthermore, he served as Subcommittee Chairman on the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, as well as being a ranking member, and was also on the Education and the Workforce Committee. Additionally, Kucinich was a candidate for the Democratic nomination for the President of the United States in both 2004 and 2008. Prior to serving in Congress, he was an Ohio State Senator for two years. He also ran his own marketing and communications firm, K Communications, from 1988 to 1994 while he took time off from serving in office.
Kucinich began his long career in government at the young age of 23 when he was elected to the Cleveland City Council. At the age of 31, he was elected mayor of Cleveland and was the youngest mayor, at the time, of a major city in the United States. He is also the author of The Courage to Survive, which was published in 2007.
FOX News Channel (FNC) is a 24-hour all-encompassing news service dedicated to delivering breaking news as well as political and business news. FOX News–with Dems on its payroll such as Alan Colmes, Bob Beckel, Pat Cadell, Kirsten Powers, and now Dennis Kucinich–is vastly more balanced and interesting than that cynical, predictable, shrill Obama house organ MSNBC, which doesn’t brook a dissenting voice in its loony-left amen corner.
Joe Scarborough, Michael Steele and Steve Schmidt are over there all the time. MSNBC and Fox News are both biased as hell, that’s what people seem to like.
Since when is Joe Scarborough a flaming right wing conservative?
Steve Schmidt?
What are you nuts? If there has ever been a more liberal in Conservative clothing.
Is it April 1? Wait…this is real?
Not surprising since Kucinich is on O’Reilly all the time and is a guest on Hannity’s radio and TV show as well. Anyone that watches Fox News knows this, which explains this article.
He reminds me of Marvin the Martian.
The money must be good because I can’t think of another reason why Kucinich would want to endure being constantly shouted down by O’Reilly and/or called a “pinhead.”
Yeah, I can tell you really watch the network. O’Reilly doesn’t shout down Kucinich. If anything, he’s very respectful
There’s nothing unusual about liberals being on Fox. There are more liberals on Fox than there are conservatives on ABC, NBC, CBS, and CNN combined.
Oh, thank you! It feels so good to laugh again!
Ailes expects Kucinich to bash the Obama administration from the left creating a false consensus of universal disapproval.
Fox likes to have weird-looking, weird-sounding liberals on. It’s all about optics. Ailes is a genius at this kind of stuff, the appearance of balance but ultimately reinforcement of their viewer’s biases at every turn.
Poor guy.
And utterly interchangeable, conservative blonde women front and center. You’re a million percent correct here!
now if they would just drop the obnoxious Alan Colmes & Bob Beckel It would be a trifecta.let them slither over to msnbc with the rest of their ilk
