The Alfonso Cuaron-directed Gravity will be released wide October 4, 2013 in 3D and IMAX. The space pic had a November 2012 release date before Warner Bros pushed it forward last spring to give it more room amid a crowded fourth-quarter slate that at the time included Argo, Gangster Squad, The Hobbit and The Great Gatsby (Gatsby has since been shifted to May 10, 2013). George Clooney co-stars and the two play astronauts whose characters are stranded in space after their space shuttle crashes; the brunt of the story surrounds Bullock’s medical engineer. The October 4 release puts the pic against Weinstein/Dimension’s Sin City sequel, Relativity’s Paranoia and Disney’s Vince Vaughn-starrer The Delivery Man.

CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS!!!!!
Sin City will obliterate it. Just sayin’.
Sin City II – too little, far too late – nothing more than a niche product masquerading as a big budget movie. It will crash and burn quickly.
I don’t think so. I have heard so many great things about Gravity, that it is not even funny. This movie is my most anticipated of the year.
Why choose such a crowded date? Especially when all four films seem to be squarely aimed at adults?
Glad they’ve dated it, film sounds amazing, but not sure why they’re putting it head to head with Sin City II and Paranoia.
Why can’t they release it already? Why October? Why not summer? Or April? Premise looks very interesting. And they pushed release to a whole year for no reason.
Gravity
Enter the Void meets 2001. Gonna be amazing.
Pushed from November, 2012 to October, 2013?
For a product with this good word-of-mouth??
(-and it HAS been getting good word-of-mouth)
Come on, WB, by the time you release this film it’s going to lose all of this “push”
Release it NOW.
