• No need to cite scientific history to recall all the errors made in the name of the “consensus of scientists,” especially when their livelihood it entangled in what side of an issue they support.

  Let’s not forget the searing meaning behind Richard Feynman’s succinct definition of science: “Science is the belief in the ignorance of experts.”

    • Feynman, a true man of science, is in his statement commenting on the idea of scientific consensus. To claim something is true based upon the opinions of a consensus of scientists is not science. It”s politics.
      Feynman would be saddened to think a Caltech student believed in his Quantum theories based upon a consensus of physicists. He would rightly rip them a new one. A friend of mine published in Nature and the subject of an episode of Nova expressed his disappointment at how the quality of the articles published in Nature and other peer-reviewed journals has dropped significantly. So many being published that do not meet the rigor of genuine science.

• It is beyond ludicrous that climate change deniers see logic in the notion that climate scientists are making this all up just to collect “grant money” (ah yes, all those rich scientists in their huge mansions!) while the oil and gas industry execs have no ulterior motive at all.

• “Stalled efforts” on Climate Change. That’s because the theory behind Climate Change has been proven junk.

  When all of you “Climate Change” believers look back wondering when you lost the mainstream, you’ll wonder. Climategate??? Nope. Harsh Winters. In part. Al Gore??? Surprisingly, no.

  It was your “predictions” that doomed you. Every singe prediction you claimed would happen under Climate Change (sorry, Global Warming) in the last 10 years didn’t. In fact, quite the opposite.

  Winter will disappear. Nope, got worse. Sea Levels will flood cities, nope, about the same. Ice will melt in Antarctica, nope, ice actually increased in parts of Antarctica. Polar Bears, Penguins, will become extinct. Nope. On and on and on.

  So in the end, you have yourself to blame. People see “climate change” (you even changed the name) as (at best) a theory now (not a reality). Unless you’re liberal, no one even pays attention. All because none of your doom and gloom predictions happened.

  • Always fascinating to read posts from climate deniers. In spite of hard data showing all predictions come true. The only difference is that they are comming a little bit earlier than predicted. Ocean heat incresing, record melt at the north pole, inceased winter ice surface at south pole due to increased levels of fresh water. Atmospheric temperature increase in spite of la ninas and recent unusual deep sol minima. 20 years ago 80% of thousands investigated glaciers decreased, 10years ago the numbers had increased to 90%. The evidence for global warming is imense just as the from multiple lines of science the connection to antropogenic c02 releases are. But what does this help when peole only read obskyre blogs where climate denier myths are repeated over and over again in spite of being debunked decades ago? It is beyond my imagination how people can be blindfolded by this cheap fossil lobby propaganda.

    • NONE of your predictions happened. And “no” it’s not cause they were “earlier than expected.” THEY DIDN’T HAPPEN at all.

      Hence, why they changed the name of “Global Warming” to “Climate Change,” because the predictions weren’t happening. Now, you can’t disprove climate changing. It’s always changing.

      This is the kind of logic I expect from a three year old. Not someone asking for billions of dollars of people’s hard earned money, to WHAT??? Fight the weather????

• Green house gas from industry has spiked since industrialization. Hugely. Science shows this traps heat in our atmosphere We have had above average temps for over 100 straight months. This is causing perma frost to melt. Which will release a huge amount of methane (decompossing fossil fuel). Methane traps 10x the heat of CO2. If we dont Move wholly away from burning fossil fuel. Move away from the coasts. Know that NYC is now like south carolina and can be florida hot in next 50 yrs. If its not a desert based on shifting jet stream.

• You obviously have no grasp on the concept of climate change nor understand the effects and predictions. You make our society dumber and should be ashamed at the lack of foresight and intelligence you exhibit. Trying to make global warming a partisan debate is pathetic. Climate change has nothing to do with politics unless you own an oil company. Polar bears are still on the endangered species list and if you talk to any of the islands in the Caribbean they’ll tell you if our world temperature continues to rise they will be under water in less then a decade. You’re right they do have a personal interest in this debate. I hope you don’t have any children that are going to suffer as a result of your cavalier attitude. Next time you wish to speak your opinion utter it into your pillow and save us from your stupidity.

• That’s exactly the problem. There isn’t anything else to discuss. The facts are irrefutable but we’re still having ‘thoughtful discussions’ instead of implementing ways to curb this global issue.
