It looks very interesting. I will see it, but I love thrillers anyway.
finallly Halle Berry does a story she is totally right for. a 911 operator. Yes she is the hottest operator in the world but i see she did her hair without the helmet head look thats cool. it genuinely looks like a ride. Taken for a chicks.
I saw tmz halle does kick the ass of all who mess with you go girlfriend.
You want to fix that post so it makes sense? No? Damn.
God what happened to Halle? That terrible shark movie now this? She better start taking agent meetings soon if she wants to stay relevant
Stay relevant? She hasn’t been relevant in a long while. Hers is a good example of a hot career squandered on terrible choices.
How do you know what she’s being offered? There are precious few scripts with a black leading lady, hell a white leading lady for that matter. (Damon and Douglas couldn’t even get a studio for the Liberace picture.) And I know at this stage of her career she can’t green light a project, like D. Dandridge, with her alone attached.
Most of us reading this in the industry can see any picture they want for free. Would someone in Indiana hand over several hours of their minimum wages to see this kind of picture including snacks, gas, and a couple tickets? If it’s not Avengers or Star Trek these days, probably not. But it’ll still generate income on Netflix or iTunes, so we’re good.
Uh.. wasn’t this already an episode of Law and Order:SVU? Little girl is kidnapped and Benson has to keep her on the phone long enough to track her but there’s something goofy about the signal and they can’t trace it so she has to think up other ways to find her, meanwhile the other detectives are running all over New York backtracking the clues she gives them?
Yeah there it is, Season 7, “911.” I hope whomever wrote the script for that ep was paid for this.
I rue that Halle keeps taking on woeful projects, and this one — The Call — looks like par for her career course of late. I seem to recall she was attached, a few short years ago, to a biopic about a school teacher whose class convinces her to run for Congress (kind of a Mr. Smith Goes to Washington theme)… there seemed to be industry buzz about that project. I don’t know what the hell happened to the buzz (or the movie, for that matter !!!!) but maybe Halle would do well to dust off that script.
The only semi-recent movie that Halle starred in and did OK in was a movie I didn’t care much for but which proved popular among Deadline posters — and fanboys of screenwriter Allan Loeb — and that would be “Things We Lost In The Fire” …. She’s just too stunning a screen presence to have her estimable talents wasted on such pedestrian , straight-to-DVD fare.
Once again Hollywood – thank you for showing entire movie in trailer. If I was semi interested at first, then when the trailer ended I was like: “So there is crazy murderer, then he will kidnap another girl, she will try to escape and will ask for help. But every person she will ask – will be killed by kidnapper, and then movie will end when Halle for some reason will find kidnapper’s home and encounter him….”
What I missed from the trailer? You know that Halle will win at the end will kill kidnapper. That how it always happens in movies like that. Sorry – I will not go to movie and for 1.5 hours to see wait till final encounter.
These days, with those stupid producers – if you plan to see the movie then you should turn off trailer at half before they will show you everything.
Solid B-movie thriller? Looks like it.
This looks really interesting. I can’t wait to see Halle kick that freaks ass.
As usual, it the trailer showed too much of the film (showing Halle fighting the bad guy at the end). The desire I had to see the film quickly went away the more they revealed in the trailer.
That is an excellent trailer it’s a really smart thriller. I’m in.
This looks terrible. Should go direct to Lifetime because movie audiences will not pay to see it. Halle Berry acting with a phone is annoying.
Frank
very insightful comment. Last time i checked she is one of the few woman out there that has actually won and academy award. But then again so have you. Oh yeh, Frank has an academy award he got it after visiting Universal and going on a tour. They sell replicas in the gift shop.
This looks terrifying!!!! Brad Anderson is a great filmmaker and Halle is so watchable, despite some questionable choices in the past. I think this looks like a blockbuster, actually. Why are people saying this won’t make money? It strikes me as exactly the kind of thing people go see. I know I will.
For those of you who bag on this. Brad Anderson is a really edge of your seat director and that alone elevates this to a must see. Transiberian, and that christian bale flick where he lost 100 pounds. If Brad did this I am in. Dude don’t play. Halle + Brad = OMG!!!
Did coverage on this script and actually found it to be a great read with some fun twists. Not something I would have pegged for an actor at Halle Berry’s level. I think it’ll be a good film, but not novel. Unfort. above are right – the trailer does give too much away.
Dear 40+ actresses,
After you have the baby, you are no longer hot. No man wants you and no woman wants to be you anymore. Transition your career or end up in shit like this.
I will definitely see this film. It looks very suspenseful ! I think it will be a big success!
