Australian actress Jessica de Gouw (The Dinner Meeting, Arrow) has landed the female lead opposite Jonathan Rhys Meyers in NBC/Sky Living‘s 10-episode series Dracula. Described as “Dangerous Liaisons meets The Tudors”, the series is set in 1890s London. It centers on Dracula (Meyers), who arrives in London posing as American entrepreneur Allen Grayson, who maintains that he wants to bring modern science to Victorian society. In reality, he hopes to wreak revenge on the people who ruined his life centuries earlier, but he falls hopelessly in love with a woman who seems to be a reincarnation of his dead wife. De Gouw will play that woman, Mina Murray, a striking medical student who is engaged to Jonathan Harker but upon meeting Grayson both are instantly mesmerized by the other’s uncanny resemblance to someone from their past.

Dracula is produced by Tony Krantz’s Flame Ventures, Colin Callender’s Playground Entertainment, Universal TV and NBCU International Prods.’ Carnival Films & Television, the company behind phenom Downton Abbey.

Based on her “acting” in ARROW, I think I will pass.
Oh great, another Dracula in love story with a reincarnation of a dead wife. How original.
Described as “Dangerous Liaisons meets The Tudors”
WTF?
Isn’t that like saying “It’s Dracula meets Nosferatu.” ???
Hollywood has no originality even when they’re reinventing the wheel.
She’s HOT on arrow…
I think NBC might have acually learned some lessons from Downton, Produce these shows for Brit TV show them on NBC in America, not like Downton, which is an NBC/C4 production but airs on PBS.
A Dracula series should fit right in on Nbc as their programming has been sucking the life out of us for years.
Why call this Dracula?
The only faithful adaptation of the novel I have seen was a 1970s BBC production with Louis Jourdan in the title role.
I liked her on Arrow, so I am happy to see her cast in this series. I hope this show ends up doing well. I think it will be good.
As long as that means she will not come back to Arrow, this is great news.
Im happy for her *_*.
more Dark shadows than Dracula it seems .
Dangerous Liaisons meets the Tudors . . . on broadcast.
Sure, NBC. Sure.
Since NBC Universal owns the rights to the old horror films of the 1930′s and 1940′s, they should remake such films as “Dracula” and “Son of Dracula” for TV as modern reboots…enough with the TV shows!
I think Jessica is the best. Great acting and figure.
