Ashton Kutcher stars as Apple visionary Steve Jobs in the Joshua Michael Stern-directed jOBS, which premieres Friday as the closing film at Sundance. In this first-look clip, Kutcher walks and talks through the parking garage of Hewlett-Packard trying to convince future Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak (Josh Gad) to push forward with his work on an operating system with commercial potential: “How does somebody know what they want if they’ve never even seen it?” Open Road just announced it will release the pic wide April 19.

This is a MADtv sketch, right?
Why is Kelso talking to Steve Wozniak? Not a lot of range being shown by Kutcher.
My first thought, all I see is Michael Kelso.
Was thinking the exact same thing.
My kid worked on this film. Give it a chance, Ashton is actually pretty good.
I didn’t know Kutcher was hosting SNL this week.
epic fail. unless this is a joke? simply bending over with a fake beard isn’t method acting bro.
The beard is 100% real. Wait for the DVD extra of Ashton growing the beard. It will blow your mind.
that is fucking funny. well done.
This seems alright. But I can’t wait for the Aaron Sorkin written film.
I’m reading the Isaacson bio now and really like it. This movie looks stinky bad.
Someone should find “The Pirates of Silicon Valley” Because Noah Wyle was far better than this and the portrayal of Wozniak was dead on.
This above seems terrible. I met Woz in the mid 80s. A lot of people did. If you want to portray him as a pudgy doofus, then this film is going to suck.
Josh Gad at his finest – pudgy doofus!
Jobs was so impressed with Noah’s performance he had Noah introduce him at the Macworld Conference in ’99
Jobs is turning over in his grave at Ashton.
First thing I thought of, too. “Pirates of Silicon Valley” was really terrific. This looks like one more attempt by Kutcher (hopefully the last) to prove that he’s A Big Boy Actor.
To paraphrase Albert Brooks when he came out of a friend’s screening and didn’t want to offer a negative opinion
“It’s 122 minutes and and I gotta say, every minute is on that screen!”
Professor Falken
is this a Funny or Die sketch? I love that Kutcher has the balls to lampoon himself like this.
Is that a Chevy Vega or a Ford Pinto they are standing in front of? Or is it a Toyota Corolla?
This movie looks to be as much of a joke as Steve Jobs’ life was.
Oooh. A burn that….well, really doesn’t make any sense.
Literally shows how pedestrian Jobs could be.
Seriously, though: the guy saw the potential for feeding an addiction no one knew they had, and a way to set up an ongoing revenue stream. That’s no more or less genius than the person that started Gillette. When’s that movie coming out?
Are we seriously going to call this entertainment now? Watching corporate hacks do their jobs?
I knew it would suck that is an insultingly bad portrayal of someone whose personality is very much still in the public conscience. it may literally be the worst portrayal I’ve ever scene. what the heck do these two have in common?
This and “Liz & Dick.” How funny. Maybe now Weird Al can play “Hamlet”
Ouch. That was bad. Ashton was the wrong pick for this.
Why all the hatred of Kutcher? Is it envy? The guy isn’t a great actor, but he’s appealing enough and extremely successful and this type of movie is usually doomed to failure anyway.
I just don’t see any reason to trash the guy.
are you kidding joe? the hatred is out of an equal respect for jobs and the craft of acting. Kutcher’s film career was OVER before he did what no one else would do and signed onto 2.5 men. with the amount of money he makes he could at least have a little appreciation and dedication to the craft of what he does. this is so lazy and gross it makes me sick… then again no one knew what to make of Day Lewis in the trailer of Lincoln… but i have a feeling aplusks performance will get worse with the more footage you see than better. who would envy this tool? annoyed and insulted is more accurate.
Steve Jobs exudes intelligence, genius, vision, and his company has changed the world.
Ashton’s done some good things with his celebrity. But genius is not a word that anyone would use to describe him.
Wow. I mean, wow. That looks genuinely awful. It’s a shame. Should call it “That ’80′s Show”.
