The second “big get” interview in as many weeks has landed outside the broadcast networks’ news divisions, once the go-to place for most figures at the center of a controversy. Katie Couric will conduct the first on-camera interview with Notre Dame football star Manti Te’o and his parents since the tragic story of Te’o's girlfriend was exposed as a fraud. (The athlete did an off-camera interview with ESPN on Friday). The interview will air Thursday on Couric’s syndicated talk show. Previews for the chat will air on ABC News platforms, Good Morning America, World News and Nightline. Earlier this week, disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong admitted to doping in an interview with Oprah Winfrey on her cable network OWN.

Money talks. Mad money talks even louder.
YAWN. … Can this really be called a get? Unless you follow college football, Americans had NO idea who this weirdo was until his story was reported on the national news. It’s a weird story, but not at all compelling, unless you’re a Notre Dame fan. I’m so tired of hearing about it. … It’s clearly been a slow news week for all of the attention this guy has received.
Can’t we wait for the REAL truth to come out about him?
Katie Couric… lame. Tears and softballs coming.
Te’o is just taking a page from George Costanza. “It’s not a lie if you believe in it.”
I still don’t understand; what’s the big deal about a hoax?
Loving how these big tough guys usually give scoops and exclusives to male journalists when they are riding high then go crying to the female journalists when they need public redemption.
Shame on Katie Couric. Really hitting as low as one can get.
This is a conflict of interest as both Couric and Manti are represented by the same PR firm. Powder puff journalism at its worst.
Oprah gets Armstrong. Katie gets Te’o. And, poor Barbara Walters gets a headache.
This guy is fraud no matter what
Version 1: He was on it from the beginning. Decided to gain popularity through pity. Because americans just love to pity someone. Specially if there is some sad story. Did you saw those X Factor contestants? They were crying and telling sob stories in every freaking interview. Demanding public pity.
Version 2: He was duped. At first. But then when she “died” decided to get public sympathy and make it look like was she was his real girlfriend. When in reality she was just his online friend. But it he would say: “I’m so sad. My online friend died. We talked for days when she was sick but now she died”, then no one would care that much. They would say: “Oh poor you” and move on. So he made her real, then went to give those countless crying interviews.
So he is fraud and liar either way. And he said to ESPN that doesn’t want to sue those people who duped him!!! I mean they were doing this for whole year. Giving him smallest details about her, her family. That fake woman was talking to him every day, he was sleeping with his phone… If this is true then they are sick and dangerous people. And he is like: “Yeah, they learned their lesson. They are embarrassed and that is enough”. This fact convinces me that he was on it and can’t give to police and sue his people.
You know why he is hiding for few days? They have to get the dates right. He will tell in interview one thing and then people will check dates and he will look like a liar again. I hope they will expose him. He looks stupid. He will confuse dates when they will pressure him for answers.
That was so wrong FTCS, but I just can’t stop laughing. Too funny.
