Lost alumna Maggie Grace’s major arc on the upcoming sixth season of Showtime’s dark comedy Californication will remain just that. I hear Showtime has scrapped plans to potentially spin off Grace’s character Faith into her own series. Showtime had the option to do so as Grace’s deal had a regular option behind it. Faith is a former Catholic school girl-turned-groupie who has been on the road with various bands for years and is considered a muse to elite artists. Though she has a fondness for sex, drugs and rock and roll, she remains quite religious. She meets and becomes friends with Hank Moody (David Duchovny) and eventually, that friendship blossoms into more. Californication sixth season debuts tomorrow night.

they probably realized she can’t act
Bummer. Was looking forward to this.
I enjoy the show, but I have a pet theory about CALIFORNICATION:
Hank Moody died just before the show begins and the squalid existence we see him struggling through is not in Los Angeles but in Hell.
This is scripted? I thought it was a reality show starring David Duchovny.
Yeah, wish it was MY reality! It probably IS a dream, because NO man could live that lifestyle!
I saw her in the bway show she’s in, “picnic.” she’s actually really good. I just think she hasn’t been cast in a role that lets her show what she can do.
Californication is like the very definition of insanity…doing the same sh!t over and over but expecting different results. That’s just what Californication is…insanity because every season is the same with Hank drinking, doing drugs, having sex with hot women and girls (I say girls in addition to women b/c let’s face some of the females that Hank bangs aren’t old enough to be considered women just yet) fighting with his moody (no pun intended) daughter, pining over his ex-wife who seems to pine for him as well and get into escapades with his agent/best friend and I say escapades cause these excursions aren’t exactly man enough or even mature enough to be called altercations or episodes. The only constant that changes each year are the guest stars but I have to say I am truly enjoying Maggie Grace so far this season but I’ve only seen the first three shows thus far. This has been the best material she has ever gotten as an actress and as Faith the muse, she plays it coy, sexy, religious, yet rebellious when it comes to sex appeal and drugs which are all adjectives that one would normally not group together when describing the same person and that is what intrigues me about Grace’s character. As always Rumple’s wife (her name escapes my mind right now…my joint kicked in!) is always my standout favorite character whereas Becca is ALWAYS my least favorite. I am curious to see how far Rumple will go with this whole gay agenda he’s got going on to keep a client cause the gay client is way too good looking for Rumple but we’ll see what happens. As always though, Duchovny plays Hank Moody to perfection as he was born to play this character, literally, given his real life “sex addicition” problems. I guess we will all just have to wait and see how the end of the show plays out. But sad to hear Showtime is not moving forward with Maggie Grace’s Faith as a vehicle for herself but yet they are keeping House of Lies which just flat out sucks no matter how good of talented actors they have (Cheadle and Bell mainly…actually only!) on the show.
Maggie Grace is obvioously a pretty girl but I really think she is unable to do this part with any believablity, a rock and roll muse? really. Either her acting is horrid or the part she is playing is way wrong for her abilties. Love the show but she is hard to watch.
