Cant have AMC with no Kanes or Chandlers
I don’t think Susan Lucci will return.
They can’t afford her!
susan luci
is retired now and they said she made too much money… so we willsee what happens. I hopr the same time and same station,.
It’s not going to be on TV. It’s an online revival, so you will only be able to watch it online. That is why a lot of cast members won’t be returning. I personally wouldn’t want to go from a tv actress to an Internet actress. So I can’t blame those who are not returning.
Maybe they can convince La Lucci to drop in every once in a while…
LMAO, she is NOT retired – she’s shooting “Devious Maids” for Lifetime in Atlanta RIGHT NOW lololol!
Susan Lucci took a pay cut to stay on AMC She loves show
I hope Susan never comes back….she seems to think that the show was built around her……she should retire …..she can’t act …
Maybe Opel can get a storyline without Erica now that she’s not around, I for one might actually watch it now, I like Erica, but I hated how she seemed to have over taken the show for the last decade or so. I am just glad so much of Landview seems intact.
Can’t have Zach w/out Kendall!
Where is Matthew, little D and baby Drew?
They are being recast. The new actors aren’t hired yet.
Although I find this very exciting for the fans, I’m curious as to how they are going to pull this off financially? Web ad dollars and paid subscriptions are not going to be able to sustain these shows in the manner that fans are used to seeing. People have been saying that this is like when it went from radio to TV but in that scenario, the budgets actually increased, not decreased. And a word to the actors, you cannot make a living doing a web series alone. Curious as to when PP makes those announcements.
That’s been my concern. The future of acting is not Internet. Tv still brings in a lot of money for the stations. It’s a co plate downgrade. I love OLTL and hated when it went off air, but I don’t see how this will work.
1. Not enough of the actors are returning and I can’t blame them. It’s a downgrade in career for those who have already found better work or even for those who have the potential for more.
2. While its not completely absurd to watch something online, it’s just not what everyone does. Am I going to have to pay to watch OLTL online? If so I’m probably out, I don’t have extra money to spend just to watch a show that I used to love. Especially when it won’t be the same oven most of the actors probably won’t return.
I choose not to own a tv, but I’ve been watching OLTL on YouTube for the past six years (this has especially served me well while I’ve been living 300 miles above the Arctic Circle in Scandinavian Lapland).
The show will be broadcast on Hulu at no cost. And the great thing about viewing via the internet is that it’s just like DVR… you can miss a whole week and then catch up on the weekend. I once went a whole month without my guilty pleasure and then watched 20 continuous hours… it was awesome.
can we watch this in canada ? i went to hulu AND IT SAYS IT IS ONLY good for the usa that is not far for us canadain.
This is not like a youtube web series, and there will be other revenue streams such as international TV resales, cable rebroadcasts and potential home media sales.
ABC is getting around $4m per year in licensing fees alone for each show. They have money raised and will do just fine. The shows will also look good, because they have to to sell for TV airings later.
They wouldn’t be doing this if the numbers weren’t adding up.
Once again-I ask-where is your proof about the money? I will admit that it certainly LOOKS as if PP is making an honest go of this, but I get the feeling with Foz McDermott out of the picture, that another shoe will drop soon.
Why not let soapnet pick it up at night like before. That would bring in more revenue for the shows
Julia Barr must be on AMC reboot. AMC needs its heart, Brooke English. Afterall she owns Chandler mansion.
Glad to see Zach is returning.
what the channels be back one life too live and amc too tell me plzzzzzzzzzzz
No TV channel lined up yet – but remember that TV airings will be later re-runs of what’s online, so if you watch on TV you will be perhaps a week or more behind all the time so if you keep up with spoilers you’d better watch them online the way it’s intended…
What about Jackson?!? Walt wiley???
I am very happy to see All My Children and One Life to Live coming back, it was a shamne the ABC handled them. Maybe As the World Turns will come back. All My Children, we need Tad Martin, Scott Chandler, Bianca, Kendall, Jeff Martin, Brooke Chandler to name a few, Please rebuild the Martin, Cortlandt families, along with Erica, even if it is a cameo basis, Please let us know when we can see it.
I am so excited about both amc and oltl,I cannt wait, missed em all so much. Hope to see Tad Martin and JR Chandler and Kendall slater ohhhh heck all of em lol….. Got ALOT of my favorites from oltl, hope u get em all back…… And I am still willing to pay for my soaps, no such thing as free tv any more any way…… Again soooooo excited
This is really exciting, but it’s an awfully slim cast at this point…I would be willing to pay a subscription fee if it meant getting a larger portion of the cast back…
My husband and I are so happy about this return of ALL MY CHILDREN. We are trying to figure out how they can afford to do this only on internet, and where it will appear and for what cost? We watched this for 30 years and would love to see all main characters return like Dixie, Chandlers, Tad, Brooke, Kendall, and as many others as you could get. Can’t wait to see how this turns out.
What about Jacob young is he returning and how about Ricky Paul and Amanda how about Greenlee
just what anybody needs a AMC reboot
What about Kendall? Wont she come back to be with Griffin?
Where is Greenlee and Ryan!!!!! It won’t be the same without them!
Bringing the shows back is great I just think you should always remember that old shows bring a little more something to the new shows
It will be interesting to see if OLTL will keep the GH John McBain/Sam storyline. Replace Starr and Todd? I guess I’ll just have to wait and see… The GH approach I must say is creative
What about Daniel Cosgrove????
When can I see both shows on the Internet I’m waiting??
Just very happy AMC will be returning, would like to see Kendall and Erica , but will watch anyway! Love the show. How about Sarah Michelle gellar returning to be Kendall!
As a dedicated fan of AMC for 35 years, I believe it would be too difficult to watch a version wherein only a handful of original cast members are present. Yes we viewers were able to adapt on TV when one lone replacement was introduced at a time while all of the many other actors remained intact. If TON is expecting us to accept a cast that is primarily foreign to us with a few old timers, speaking for myself, forget it. I have replaced my 5 hour per week habit with shows like Revenge and Scandal. As an AMC fan, you should have kept me when you had me. I grieved for a long time, and moved on. For all of us, I hope you are able to convince many more TV cast members to sign, or I suspect the online version may be short lived.
I am loving that AMC and OLTL are coming back on anything!!!!!
I hope to God that Michael Knight will be back on AMC!
