The NFL‘s penultimate game of the season — the AFC Championship Game matchup between the Ravens and Patriots — was the only game in town last night, towering over mostly repeat competition. In non-time-zone-adjusted fast nationals, the Ravens’ surprise victory drew 41.3 million viewers and a 14.6/34 in adults 18-49, numbers bound to go higher when the live West Coast ratings are factored in, along with the conclusion of the game, which bled into the 10 PM hour. CBS opted to give Monday drama Hawaii Five-0 a boost with a special airing behind the monster NFL game. Somewhat surprisingly, Hawaii, which has been facing uphill battle against NBC’s Revolution and ABC’s Castle in the Monday 10 PM slot this season, didn’t take full advantage of its huge lead-in. In time-adjusted ratings, the procedural averaged a 3.4 rating in 18-49 and 12.9 million viewers.
ABC, the only network to schedule originals against the AFC Championship Game, took a hit. America’s Funniest Home Videos (1.3/3 in 18-49) was down 7% from last week, Once Upon A Time (2.4/6) was down 14%, and Revenge (1.7/4) dropped 15% to a season low.

REVENGE is back on track! Amazing episode and can’t wait to see the new ones in February. Why did ABC schedule against football? Bad move.
Last year people were complaining about ABC preempting Revenge too often. This year it seems they’re not preempting it enough.
SHAME ON YOU CBS!!! Person of interest deserve that spot. Best scripted and acted crime drama on broadcast TV. Quality and entertaining. AT least give POI spost super bowl slot.
Elementary already has the post Super Bowl slot
ABC once again is doing what led to Desperate housewives downfall — it makes no sense to go up against the globes and football with new episodes and then take the week off next week — where there is no programming. Should just take January off especially for continuing episodes. And yes Revenge is finally getting back to what made each episode of season 1 so great after such a lackluster season 2 beginning.
January off? But they just took December off. And what about February? There’s Superbowl, Grammys, Oscars… How about they keep it off till March? Oh, wait… People would then complain about the show being off for 3 months.
REVENGE has been great all season! I’m glad it was on since I don’t watch football.
Disappointing numbers for H50. I guess people really just aren’t interested in the series. But CBS will still continue using every opportunity to push it down people throats!
Love show , love Dylan Walsh , is he a regular now , amazing actor , great chemistry with m Stowe !!
Agreed on Revenge. You just gotta love this show. So many mean/nasty people, everyone with their own agendas,&,of course Emily getting even with everyone. To me,Revenge is like a throwback to the nasty primetime soaps of the 1980′s. I love this show! Hopefully,it will be around for many seasons to come.
The reason why Hawaii 5-0 Didn’t capitalize on the hefty viewership is because the show SUCKS !!! It’s time for CBS to stop shoving it down our throats and think it’s going to rebound. It’s not. It won’t. Its what you call a lost cause. It would be stupid to relocate it elsewhere as I can guarantee that it’s viewership will plummet even further without it’s cushy Monday timeslot.
Save face and cancel it. Utilize the timeslot on something not considered mediocre and generally unwatchable.
LOL. I agree. HUGE HUGE lead in yesterday and the show lost almost the 80% of the numbers. That is awful. CBS really wasted this amazing spot with Hawaii 50. The numbers the show got were even lower than the numbers CSI Miami was getting in a regular Monday night.
The acting is in this show is terrible. Unwatchable. A B-Actor can never be a good lead man.
CBS made a huge error when they decided to schedule this show after the AFC Championship game. Knowing full well it wouldn’t start on time and the show struggles for ratings during its normal timeframe, they should have just gone with a BBT rerun and they would have scored a better number overall.
Nice, ABC. LOL. Airing new episodes of their already weak Sunday lineup against major awards programming, and NFL playoff games, the idiots at ABC do it again. It isn’t like Paul Lee has brought in one single solid hit on his own since he took over. And now he continues to kill the only quasi-hits he could truly say he initiated on his own. Pathetic. It’s past time ABC execs realized they cannot compete on Sundays against pro football, pro basketball, major award ceremonies, and special events with their “special brand” of programming. They can barely compete any other day of the week against CBS’ regular schedule. ABC has the Oscars for goodness sake. Why hasn’t someone over there thought that it might be a good idea to use the months of January and February to air old Oscar nominated films/winners as a build up to the actual awards at the end of February.
