The former Republican Vice Presidential candidate will no longer be on Fox News Channel, the network confirmed today. “We have thoroughly enjoyed our association with Governor Palin. We wish her the best in her future endeavors,” FNC Programming EVP Bill Shine said in a statement. Sarah Palin has been a frequent contributor to Fox News since 2009.
Not only did the News Corp-owned network reportedly pay Palin more than $1 million a year, but FNC even built a studio in her Wasilla home so the former Alaska governor could work from there. However, the relationship was not always ruffle-free. On August 29 last year, Palin took to her Facebook page to complain about FNC removing her as a talking head for the network’s GOP convention coverage. Fox News said later it was a scheduling issue and not a slight. Palin showed up on Sean Hannity’s show the next night.
Fox News wasn’t Palin’s only post-political TV venue. She also starred in the Mark Burnett-produced reality series Sarah Palin’s Alaska on TLC for one low-rated season. She also appeared on NBC’s Today and was a guest host and in the audience when her daughter Bristol was on Dancing With The Stars.
Fox News recently re-signed Karl Rove to a multiyear contract and added liberal former Congressman Dennis Kucinich as a contributor.

Thank you for respecting my ‘god given right’ of avoiding being a victim of non-sense and bigotry.
Good riddance!
You mean the not quuuuite one-term Alaska Governor…
This is the end.
Sarah can now focus like a lightning rod of winning the gOP 2016 nomination and then routing Hillary Rodham Clinton in the general election. And when she does her first move will be the rein in the filth in hollywood. How you like that, filth?
Now that is the best laugh I have had all week!! Kudos!!
Damn. ^^^Nuttiest post ever. This has GOT to be satire.
Bill O’Reilly leaving FOX News would be news, this is not.
There’s no way she will ” ride off into the sunset “.
She is used to the attention and easy money from just showing up and talking.
Someone will pay her….probably Mark Burnett or Donald Trump.
I feel like we are getting close to the end of what John McCain threw to the world and destroyed all credibility in US politics. It’s almost over – but I will never forgive you John.
Wake up. She saved his campaign from being DOA. Yes, the campaign eventually died. But at least it got to enjoy the ride to the hospital, take a nice bed, see some loved ones and fade away peacefully.
Hilarious!
I predict she will now host a game show and will then quit it halfway through the first season.
Yes, these things will occur.
Those were the longest most excruciating 10 minutes of fame ever!
I’ll miss her on Fox News. She has good common sense and isn’t afraid to call out the president’s lies and questionable policies.
Good common sense?
Thank you for the laugh, Lisa!
Yes,Wilbur, Lisa is correct. Sarah Palin had displayed common sense that you clearly lack,if you buy all those lies that we are subjected to and which are being debunkt one by one. Just open your eyes and ears. I will miss her but even more Dick Morris.
Citizen
If Fox were follow up their dismissal of Palin by getting rid of Hannity, Cavuto and the Morons In the Morning and replacing them with people with even a shred of integrity and intelligence and respect for the facts — although I’m a flaming liberal, I can think of a zillion actual Republicans and other conservatives who would fit the bill without me ever agreeing with anything they say — they might have the potential to become an actual source of news.
I’m surprised she didn’t quit halfway through her contract.
Sarah Palin was a player in politics and news world, trying to react to a historical era with our first african-american president. Fownews reacted fairly to this president trying to make sense of the changing political climate. I saw no bias.
Now its four years later and its probably good Sarah moved on. Life is short, and I feel she could probably continue with her political career (and education).
Keep moving up Sarah. I like your spunk and spirit. And above all, don’t become a Diva!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
You’re hilarious!!! Do you write for Big Bang Theory???
You saw no bias? I bet you also don’t “see” any reason to teach evolution in public school, either. Hey, when you look at a corporation, do you “see” a person?
You mean the THEORY of evolution? Should we teach our children something that is no more provable than God?
Well, your junk may like Sarah’s spunk, but my junk thunk that Sarah’s spunk has sunk.
Let’s face it: she was vastly over paid in relation to the value she brought to the network. Rather than follow up her 2008 election by serving a full-term as Governor or running for Senate, she became too interested in being a full-time celebrity.
She did not bring much to the table, as she was not a Washington insider. She backed Mitt Romney, but only late and reluctantly. She had few contacts in New York or D.C. Her brand became diluted.
People who wish to be taken seriously as credible policy makers and analysts don’t take part in reality shows on TLC; they dissuade their daughters from doing Dancing With the Stars; they don’t engage in Twitter and Facebook wars with their daughter’s wayward ex-boyfriend. I liked Sarah Palin in 2008, but she became too exhausting after a while. It was too difficult to like her and damn near impossible to defend her.
I do think we’re seeing the last of her. I suspect she’ll finally get that divorce from Todd and just retire to country life in Alaska.
and so goes her descent into the irrelevant
Not to worry, she can always go to…oh wait, there’s nothing lower than Fox News. Sorry, Sarah. Maybe Romney will hire you as cruise director aboard his yacht. I hear he’s in the Caymans.
“I hired Sarah Palin because she was hot and got ratings,” – Fox News Chairman, Roger Ailes, Oct 4, 2011.
Any truth that Honey Boo Boo has replaced Sarah Palin on Faux News?
She’s even cuter and definitely a lot smarter!
people like you should go live in iran or russia for a year then you wouldnt make stupid comments about sara palin that woman forgor more than you will ever know be glad you live in a country where you are free your comments just show your ignorence
people like you should learn how to construct a cohesive sentence that isn’t riddled with spelling errors, misspelled proper names and words that aren’t even words (e.g. ‘forgor’) . . . your comments just show YOUR “ignorence”.
She’s addicted to making lots of money for minimal work so now she will have to try and get a talk show on HLN or TBS or some other basic cable network. Or she can go to NATPE and try to launch a syndicated daytime talker and she will have a dozen big production companies wanting to sponsor her. Look for a bidding war for her new show she has an audience of women who will watch her do anything.
Let’s face it folks, this lady was dumb as dirt when it came to politics & US History. It was no surprise when Faux News recruited her. That’s the kind of dumb & unknowing people they like to have on their network. As long as you hate the President, Faux News will hire you. Good riddance! (Not that I ever watched that wretched station anyway)
I love Sarah Palin. She is a tough woman, a hard worker, mother of 5 including a special needs child, got involved in politics, lives in the one state that will weed out the faint of heart and in every way is the poster woman for the woman they told us we were supposed to be in the 70s – the only problem is she turned out to be a republican instead of a democrat whiner like Fluke.
The reality is her reports for Fox, when she wasnt in NYC, involved synching up two distant time zones, and its gotten harder and it was her choice to leave. Trust me, if Fox would hang on to Karl Rove, they would have kept Palin if she wanted to stay.
Plus, I loved Sarah Palins Alaska. It was a lot of Alaska in a way you dont see it, from the view point of the people who lived there – the episode with those Kate Plus 8 kids was hilarious, and Palin’s retired science teacher dad is such a wonderful character – should have his own show!
Yeah and she also thought that Dinosaurs weren’t goddamn real. I seriously can’t believe people legitimately thought she could be Vice President.
Like her or not, she still has a lot of followers. CNN should hire her, lol.
