Adrian Smith has been named president of Sony Pictures Releasing Domestic Distribution, and Adam Bergerman and John Spinello have been upped to Assistant General Sales Managers. Bergerman and Spinello will report to Smith. The promotions are part of a re-alignment of the studio’s domestic distribution division. Smith joined Sony Pictures in 1989 as Western District manager for TriStar Pictures. In 2000, he was named SVP and Western Division manager for Sony Pictures Releasing, and in 2011, he was appointed EVP and general sales manager, overseeing domestic sales for all Sony Pictures films.
Spinello joined Sony Pictures in 1997 as managing director, Eastern Sales Division, and was promoted to VP Eastern Sales Division in 2003. He was again promoted to SVP/Division Manager Eastern Sales Division in 2008. Bergerman joined Sony Pictures in 1996 as a booker for the Eastern Division, was promoted to sales manager Eastern Division in 1998, district manager for the Eastern Division in 2001, VP/managing director for the Eastern Division in 2009, and SVP/division manager for the Western Division last year.

I can’t believe that Sony are still operating this ‘old boys club’.
Time to move on Jeff!
Congrats to Adrian! Not only a great distribution executive but a nice guy too. This just shows if you continue to do a good job eventually it pays off.
What happened to Jim Amos? Something not quite right here.
Jim Amos do the immoral and unethical things that Sony demanded him to do, that would have hurt many people. I guess being moral and ethical and a good human being doesnt matter to these people.
They are ruthless. Nothing against Adrian Smith, but there will never be a President like Jim Amos.He was a true blue guy.
The only executive I know that will lose everything to not step on the little people, and always defend the underdog and who is right.
In the end; Jim will prevail
Well that ‘old boys club’ were the #1 distributor for 2012!
Congratulations to Adrian! A truly great and talented guy. To bad he works for such a despicable and repugnant company.
good question ExhibEye. What happened to Jim Amos?
JIM AMOS IS THE ONLY ONE THAT CAr
JIM AMOS IS THE ONLY ONE THAT CARES ABOUT PEOPLE; ABOVE
A TITLE. HE LOST EVERYTHING BECAUSE, HE CANT BE RUTHLESS .
THE ONE EXECUTIVE THATS REAL, AND WILL NEVER DO ANYTHING IMMORAL OR UNETHICAL LIKE SONY WANTED HIM TO DO.
Jim couldn’t work for a company that hurt innocent people.
Jim is all good.
There’s no replacement for Jim Amos
What the hell is Sony thinking?
I agree. Nothing against Adrian, but come on.
Everyone in distribution knows the work and heart Jim put his 3 decades with the company in. I’m aware of the situation, and all I can say is Jim did nothing to deserve this. Sony kicked him when he was down. Sonys underhanded in a lot of things they do. Pretty soon people will know what Sony pictures did to this innocent lady with an idea. They stole it and are making millions. Not caring less about morals or ethics. Jim isn’t about that. He cares about people and defends them. I guess Sony only cares about their revenue and doesn’t care who they step on to make their money . Even a loyal employee like Jim. Well what goes around comes around.
Jim will flourish; because he is of great moral character and one of the kindest men I know.
Sony you lost the vest employee you will ever have. How dumb are you?
Anyone know where Jim Amos is?
What’s he doing now? What the hell happened to him?Anyone who knows please answer.
He just won the Showeast award last year.
This makes no sense. Sony made their money because of Jim’s insight. Answer anyone who knows. Haven’t seen or heard from him in months.
Jim Amos cannot be replaced. No one worked as hard as Jim.
There is something very shady going on if you ask me.
