Cheyenne Jackson is set to co-star opposite Jeffrey Tambor in Amazon Studios‘ comedy pilot The Onion Presents: The News. The project, from The Onion’s Will Graham & Dan Mirk, is described as a fast-paced scripted comedy set behind the scenes of The Onion News Network that shows just how far journalists will go to stay at the top of their game. Jackson will play Cameron, a rising younger anchor who threatens the reign of veteran anchor David Everett (Tambor). Jackson, repped by ICM Partners and The Schiff Co., most recently co-starred in Bryan Fuller’s NBC pilot/special Mockingbird Lane and the indie Price Check. He will next be seen opposite Michael Douglas and Matt Damon in HBO’s Behind The Candelabra.
Australian actress Bojana Novakovic (Edge Of Darkness) has landed a role opposite Greg Kinnear in the Fox comedic drama pilot Rake. Based on the Australian series, Rake, from the original series’ creator Peter Duncan, Peter Tolan and Sony TV, follows the chaotic and comedic life of criminal defense lawyer Keegan Joye (Kinnear), brilliant, frustratingly charming, and with zero filter. Novakovic, repped by CAA, Management 360 and Lisa Mann Creative Management in Australia, will play Mikki, a smart and spunky high-priced prostitute who’s had a five-year “relationship” with Joye. She was last seen playing the female lead in Devil for Universal and will next be seen opposite Keanu Reeves in Generation Um. Rake co-stars Miranda Otto and Necar Zadegan.

Hopefully this will be Jackson’s big break. He and Tambor should make a great comedy team.
Didn’t they already try an onion show?? There was a sports Onion on Comedy Central and News Onion on IFC
So they got screwed over twice. They were good shows. Plus, this is more of a behind the scenes/work com.
Cheyenne Jackson as a yuppie anchorman? Count me in!
This could be very interesting. I like the pairing of Jackson and Tambor and think they will play off one another nicely.
William Sadler stars in ‘The Onion Presents: The News’ as Ed Musgrove, head of the newsroom who must deal with newscaster rivalries.
Delighted for Cheyenne – he’s a fantastic talent.
