Team Coco is heading back to Washington D.C. Conan O’Brien will be the headliner of this year’s White House Correspondents Association Dinner, it was announced today. “Thrilled to reveal @ConanObrien has agreed to headline White House Correspondents Association’s scholarship dinner April 27 @TeamCoco,” WHCA president and Fox News Channel correspondent Ed Henry tweeted this morning. This isn’t the late-night host’s first time toplining the DC event. In 1995, when O’Brien was the host of NBC’s Late Night, he roasted then-President Bill Clinton and others from the stage. The annual mockfest has become a magnet for Presidents and other politicians, the fourth estate, Hollywood heavyweights, and tabloid fixtures. ABC late-night host Jimmy Kimmel headlined the dinner last year.

Fantastic news! Conan will be great
Obviously, the press wanted something safe like oatmeal…and, Conan fits this dynamic. Won’t be anywhere near as funny or brutal as many others would be, and that’s the reason he was selected…safe….safe…safe…boring.
By far the worst WH Correspondents monologue ever was delivered by Jay Leno two or three years ago. He died a thousand deaths. Here’s Conan’s chance to one up Leno.
Conan is horrible. He doesn’t deserve what Jay Leno and NBC did to him, however his lack of talent – hear me out – is completely why he does deserve to be on a piddling little network and not part of the big boys.
HE – HE – has never been funny. His show may be funny at times, but he is not a naturally funny person. And worse of all…he is painful to watch. He FREAKING has to read on a card every single question he throws up to his guest. Pathetic. He even reads off of a card “So I can’t tell you how much it means to me that you stopped by.” ATE YOU KIDDING ME?! You idiot. If you actually freaking mean it, look your guest in the eye and tell them that.
I am so happy this guy got canned because he sucks. If you like him….you have no taste. He is thee worst talk show host ever…the guy can’t carry on a conversation to save his life. Go read your cards on TNT or wherever the hell you are. Conan sucks. And he’ll suck at the White House press corp as well.

Sorry Conan we changed our mind and we’re going with Jay Leno he’s much easier to push around and he won’t tell any controversial jokes. You didn’t really think you’d get to host this dinner did you? We just used you for publicity. Our plan was to go with Jay all along.

Would love to see Tina Fey or Amy Poehler hired for this gig. Would be so much funnier. Conan’s OK and likeable,and funny, but can we have a little diversity and actually put some creative thought into our choices? … Yeah, I’m talking to you Ed Henry, Mr. White Bread Conservative.

It great to give Conan another gig…BUT, anyone stop to think that there are several women who deserve a anothr chance to host…Whoopi, Ellen DeGeneres, Tin Fey, Joy , Amy Poehler to name a few, Wanda Sykes was a first woman/minority… Minorities as well as women have been somewhat overlooked…
