EXCLUSIVE: Peyton List (Mad Men) has landed a lead in the CW drama pilot The Tomorrow People, an adaptation of the cult British series. Written/exec produced by Phil Klemmer, exec produced by Julie Plec and Greg Berlanti and directed/exec produced by Danny Cannon, Tomorrow People is in the vein of X-Men and Heroes and revolves around several young people from around the world who represent the next stage in human evolution, possessing special powers, including the ability to teleport and communicate with each other telepathically. Together they work to defeat the forces of evil. List will play Cara, the female member of the “Tomorrow People” group who has a sense of humor beneath her serious demeanor and seems to be a trustworthy ally. List, repped by Innovative, is probably best known for her recurring role as Jane Sterning on AMC’s Mad Men. She also co-starred on ABC’s FlashForward and recently recurred on the CW’s 90210.
Character actor Matt Malloy has been cast as a lead opposite John Goodman and Mark Consuelos in Amazon Studios‘ comedy pilot Alpha House, written by Garry Trudeau. Alpha House follows four senators who live together in a rented house in Washington DC. Malloy will play one of them, Nevada Senator Louis Laffer, who is easily flustered and anxiously overcompensates for his lack of masculinity. Goodman and Consuelos play two of his Senator housemates. Malloy recurred on Six Feet Under and Law & Order and will next be seen in HBO’s Phil Spector.

Well if Peyton List is in count me in as well.
The last interesting iteration of ‘The Tomorrow People’ was nearly twenty years ago on Nickelodeon.
Matt Malloy rules in In the Company of Men and Hal Hartley’s Trust. He’s perfect for this. Now all they need is Taylor Nichols and Chris Eigeman.
Lemme guess: Taylor and Chris are your boss’s clients as well?
Some people are actually capable of feeling happy when people they respect succeed. Some people are also capable of issuing compliments to others, even when their boss doesn’t represent them.
Molloy was superb in ‘In the Company of Men’: frankly, I am a little baffled his career didn’t take off after that film. Sure, he doesn’t look like a film star like Eckhart, but I would have hoped he got much bigger roles than he received after that film’s success. Maybe he was too good in that film (Stacy Edwards) and people couldn’t see him play anything else than a pathetic creep. There were three great performances in that film, and it’s a pity that only one got recognition from casting agents.
Peyton List was terrific in Mad Men. I’m really happy for her, and will watch this for sure.
Peyton proved she has come a long way on the most recent season of Mad Men. She killed it in that LSD episode and frankly, deserves better than a CW pilot.
Congrats to Matt!
Such a solid performer, and an all around great guy!
Would love to see him break out and get the recognition (and the $) that he truly deserves.
But the thing about Matt, he wouldn’t just do it for the bucks. He’s that cool a guy.
Don’t rep him, not married to him, just like seeing a good guy get a break!
