UPDATE, 6:28 PM: One day after having his contract not renewed by Fox News Channel, Dick Morris says it was his bad political judgment that got him canned. “I was fired because I was wrong. I was wrong and I was wrong at the top of my lungs,” Morris told CNN’s Piers Morgan Tonight Wednesday. On his first appearance on CNN in over a decade, the former FNC contributor still insisted his opinion that Mitt Romney would win the Presidential election was correct – until Hurricane Sandy hit the East Coast. “The real issue is why did Mitt Romney lose? The real answer is the storm,” Morris told Morgan. At the end of the approximately 20-minute interview, Morgan invited Morris to come back anytime.
PREVIOUSLY, FEB. 5: Long time contributor Dick Morris will no longer be a talking head on Fox News Channel. “His contract is up and we will not be renewing it, ” a spokesperson for the news network confirmed today. A perpetual presence during last year’s Presidential election, Morris has not been seen on FNC since November 12. During the battle between President Barack Obama and Gov. Mitt Romney, the former Clinton advisor had been strongly predicting a big loss for the incumbent. Morris didn’t waste much time moving on from FNC. Earlier today, he announced via Twitter that he would be making an appearance on CNN’s Piers Morgan Tonight on Wednesday. That will be the first time the conservative has appeared on CNN since 2002. Morris isn’t the only big name contributor departure from the top rated news network. FNC recently parted ways with former GOP VP candidate Sarah Palin after three years. On the other hand, Fox News also re-signed Karl Rove to a multiyear contract and added liberal former Congressman Dennis Kucinich as a contributor.
Deadline's Dominic Patten - tip him here.

Quit being so nasty you ,Fools! You are the reason the Republicians lost the last 2 elections..
The Republicans won the 2010, but the establishment has decided to run against the Tea Party and with the Democrats. So they lost the 2012.
The entire Republican elite are nothing more that R.I.N.O.
It is time to put them out to pasture!
ARTIE see the last sentence “and added liberal former Congressman Dennis Kucinich as a contributor”
This will no doubt enhance the CNN experience. Or not. Glad he’s going there, after his bogus predictions he should be ashamed to still be in politics. Maybe it’s time for him to switch back to being a Democrat.
Perhaps you forgot Rove’s predictions, which were just as off-the-mark as Morris’? Or Rove’s past failures, including the Republican loss of both the House and the Senate in the not-too-distant past?
Fox: Morris made good contributions…many thought The Dems would lose…as did I…When O let him speak, he was informative and gave thought out insights..
You sure didn’t better yourself or think of your viewers when you hired liberal Dennis Kucinich. I’m very disappointed. I’m thinking pretty soon there will be no difference between your network and CNN.
So, Morris was wrong. At least he explained his error. Please do not join the establishment effort to disembowel the conservative wing.
Bring back Morris. Don’t make me turn off Fox!
I love Dick Morris. I think he is a very wise man. I am going to miss him. I will not watch CNN. Fox is headed the wrong way. I only watch a short part of Fox News now. They are afraid of hurting the other side so much so now that I feel we are not getting the full story.
why not Krl Rove He needs to go. any way with out sarah Palin you will never get the truth about the Republican Party
Whatever you want to say about Morris, he is a shrewd analyst and a knowledgeable historian and I always enjoyed his insights on politics in general. Besides, Morris was one of Many blindsided by the fact that 3 million registered repubs that voted in 08, stayed home in ’12. Had they turned out as they had in ’12 it Would have been a win for Mitt.
This guy blows. good riddance. we average working stiffs rely on the pundits to be accurate, to inform, to give us a little hope. I feel as though moderates, conservatives and crossovers got set up to have thier hopes dashed. Then he tries to make excuses for why his “model” failed. The pan handlers at the stoplights would have been more accurate than this “master pollster”
It is about time . Morris always made the wrong prediction about every subject . I was amazed how Bill Oreilly kept talking to him . He was a disgrace to FOX. And his analysis was so shallow with no substance .Good move ,
You are making stuff up. Morris saw up close the treachery of the Democrat Party and has been screaming it from the rooftops. That’s what you can’t handle because you are deluded Democrat.
I don’t understand, this is supposed to be a News Channel?
ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC and CNN.
Kucinich? Dennis Kucinich? Really? Fox is lowering its standards. Why not get Hank Johnson or John Conyers or Sheila Jackson Lee? They would really be entertaining to watch. Kucinich is a nut job without the entertainment value of the others.
He may have been wrong@the election but I always liked his comments about his theories about conservatism etc. will be missed by true conservatives!
To bad FNC renewed Karl Rove. When he comes on, I switch over to HGTV and watch paint dry.
Dick Morris wasn’t conservative, he was establishmentarian. He’ll do well on CNN. Now dump Rove. Hire Allen West.
Eek. I was with you until you said “Hire Allen West.” He’s not the direction Fox News needs to go in.
I’ll miss Dick. So he messed up on predicting the outcome of the election. He wasn’t alone. Dick had wonderful insight and will be missed.
Amen. I’ll miss Dick Morris a lot—-he is a smart guy; was one of the smarter ones over at FOX and a hell of a lot smarter than the dumbasses elsewhere.
Dick Morris was always far more interesting to listen to than some other Fox talking heads like Karl Rove and Bernie Goldberg. Morris’ predictions weren’t any less accurate than Rove’s. Even the indisputably brilliant conservative political analysts like Michael Barone called this election wrong in a big way. These guys all had a blind spot.
As a regular Fox viewer, my ears always perked up when Morris came on. I’d sit down and pay attention carefully to his appearances. This is an extremely dumb move on Fox’s part, ESPECIALLY dumb when you consider how likely it is that Hillary Clinton is going to become a big factor in another 2-3 years and the inside knowledge of the Clintons that Morris has. Way to let such a relevant asset go to another network.
For those of us living outside your bubble, this post is illuminating and disturbing. Do you home school your children?
My opinion, I think it was a mistake for Fox to let Dick Morris go. I know I will watch less.
don’t watch fox anymore since they are turning left.
O’Reilly helped get O’bama elected, often acting as though he were starstruck with him. It seems that he was hypnotized by the O when invited to the WH for a dinner. Perhaps it was a case of body snatchers. BO is a complete buffoon and has many a failure to prove it and a very shady past with friends in very low places equally as shady. Anyone with the least bit of objectivity would be appalled by the man and that he is the president of the USA. Dick Morris, with the election over, what else is there to talk about with him? Romney was screwed over by all the media including Fox. It is said that there have been orders from the top to lean more left and they certainly are, so why bother? I can see that on any of the other networks.
Not true. Michael Barone also predicted a big win, and Peggy Noonan called a significant win for Romney, too.
Poor old Dick now that he is going to CNN when he tries to push his web site and his books he will be out in the cold because people who watch CNN can’t read a book let alone find a his web site.
Very astute, I concur.
Good bye, dick. It’s about time! Good riddance to Dick the book-seller.
Dick Morris is the Frank Burns (i.e. M.A.S.H.) of political commentators. Whatever he says, believe or do the opposite.
