Bruce Willis was on hand last night at 20th Century Fox studios to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his blockbuster franchise with a new mural on the backlot. From certain angles the mural McClane looks more like a young Mel Gibson, but filmmakers and execs (including Twilight producer Wyck Godfrey) didn’t seem to mind as the next pic in the franchise — the Russia-set A Good Day To Die Hard, which premieres February 14 — had its first screening, followed by a “red” Russia-themed reception on the 21st floor of where else, but Nakatomi Tower (aka Fox Plaza). Willis was joined by Good Day To Die Hard co-stars Jai Courtney, Rasha Bukvic and Yuliya Snigir, director John Moore, and 20th Century Fox Film chairman and CEO Jim Gianopulos.

since when did Bruce Willis have steely blue eyes? did Alec Baldwin give him an eye transplant?
Love “Die Hard” films. John McClain is easily my favorite action film character. Captain Kirk a pretty close second.
He looks like Mel Gibson
+ 1
We said Bruce Willis not Mel Gibson you fools!
Was his hairline already that receded in 1988? For the amount of work that must’ve gone into that thing, it doesn’t seem like that perfect a likeness.
Sweet. I have always wanted to see a giant painting of Bruce Willis giving King Kong a prostate exam.
Very funny, mcteague.
Wow – they sure really wanted to jettison that Darth Vadar mural down in a hurry.
Talk about sour grapes.

Coat
It’s on a different wall you dunce.
Maybe should have gone with a profile or 3/4. No resemblance to subject. As bad as Joseph Gordon-Levitt in Looper.
Looks pretty good to me. It’s a painting not a photo. Deadline is the home of the bitter critic. God help Jesus if he makes it back for the Second Coming. Deadline will be packed with comments like: ‘the only reason he got to be messiah is because of nepotism’; ‘I thought the first one was better’; and ‘how dare they remake the messiah, the original was a classic’.
“Come out to the coast, we’ll get together, have a few laughs…”
I wonder what it must be like to bask in the sheer glory of this thing whilst donning your official NOMINEE sweatshirt.
Eeesh. Frightening.
And yeah, my first guess would have been Mel Gibson with his head weirdly shaved.
Ah shut up the cynical, jaded jerks. When you work on something as elaborate and this then you can complain. Looks great to me!
BRUCE IS AWESOME. They should keep making these every other year!
