Eight-part drama series Broadchurch begins airing on ITV in the UK next month and on BBC America later this year as part of its Dramaville drama block. The series stars David Tennant, Olivia Colman, Vicky McClure and Arthur Darvill. In the vein of The Killing, the ensemble explores what happens to a small coastal community when a media frenzy comes to town after a young boy is murdered. Broadchurch hails from Life On Mars and Law & Order: UK producer Kudos Film and Television and is created by Camelot exec producer Chris Chibnal. Law & Order: UK’s Richard Stokes is producing. The Hour’s Jane Featherstone exec produces with Chibnall. Here’s the ITV promo:

Music in trailer and story don’t match. Music is like from some teen tv show. Like it’s some Dawson Creek or Smalville. And story is completely serious.
I wish they would find different music for trailer. Because they killed any desire to watch it. I was watching similar british tv show. Called The Town. About murder in small town. I watched 1 episode. And then turned it off in the middle of second episode because it was too boring. 95% of the time they were focusing on the life of empty and uninteresting characters. They forgot about murder. And it was just boring show.
After this trailer I feel like this will be something similar.
@Shy… I disagree. I thought the music complemented the trailer really well. Probably you just don’t like that type of music. Hence you dislike that particular type of juxtaposition.
I don’t watch Dawson’s Creek or Smallville so I can’t speak on those, but that trailer worked for me.
I agree the music hurts the trailer. Much different feel than what is presumably the tone of the piece, given the images. Still looks interesting though.
Find those motherEFFAZ responsible David. Find them!!!!!!
Wow. Great ensemble of actors. Olivia Coleman is a British gem who can seamlessly jump between comedic and dramatic roles. You forgot to add that Kudos also produced Spooks [MI-5].
David Tennant and Arthur Darvill in the same series! Who!
Does anyone know the named song of the trailer?
The song is ‘People Help The People’ by Birdy but it was originally done by Cherry Ghost
