EXCLUSIVE: Paul Walker trades fast and furious for frantic and fatherly in Hours, which will have its world premiere at SXSW and is currently being sold in Berlin. The pic, directed by Eric Heisserer, revolves around what happens after Hurricane Katrina hits the hospital where Walker’s child was just born in tragic circumstances. The hospital is evacuated and he is told to stay with his baby, who is on a ventilator, and they are soon cut off from the world by power outages and rising flood waters. He must fight to keep them both alive. Voltage is selling international EFM, and UTA is selling domestic. Peter Safran produced.

This looks great! Good for PW- no cars in this one.
At first I was taken aback by the casting of Paul Walker. But it seems this story has been turned into an action pic, so it all makes sense.
Leave Walker alone. He is becoming a solid actor. Sure, he’s no Daniel Day-Lewis, but he’s a great leading man in these action oriented roles. Check out his performance in the criminally underrated Running Scared. He is great in that. Plus, he is aging quite gracefully.
Thank you Paul Walker’s agent or assistant.
“He is becoming a solid actor”
Sorry I just upchucked the milk I was drinking out of my nose.
“he’s no Daniel Day-Lewis”
You surely got that right. Walker acts like he has two left feet.
“Check out his performance in the criminally underrated Running Scared”
He was in the old Billy Crystal, Gregory Hines action flick from the 80′s. Huh, he must have been really young. Cause I’m sure you’re not talking about the 2005 film stupidly called the same thing that has a 32% rating on Rottentomatoes from Top Critics and only made $9M worldwide on a budget of $15M. The only thing criminal about that film was that it was the 2nd crappy film from Wayne Kramer after the promising THE COOLER.
Say what you will about PW but his performance in the recent Vehicle 19 is solid. I’m not so sure about this, but handled properly he can deliver.
“Please walk away from acting” is typical of the douche bags who love to crap on Walker. Just admit you resent Walker for being able to walk into any bar in the world and walk out with a gorgeous trophy for the night. Your putdown on Running Scared neglects to mention that the film has a very above average 7.4 rating on imdb from real people, as well as a 76 percent audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes – again from real people. Also has been voted on almost a million times on Netflix (and rated 3.7 out of five) and has earned over 60 million on DVD. Critics don’t always get it right and also have a predisposition to hate on Walker’s films. And he acts the shit out of that film. You also need to learn how to express yourself in English. You call the film, “Kramer’s second crappy film after the promising The Cooler…” Running Scared was Kramer’s second film, so how can it be his second crappy film? It would have to be his first crappy film since you obviously liked The Cooler since you called it ‘promising.’ Hours looks intriguing, as does Vehicle 19. Walker is one of the few ‘real men’ leading men left in this business and he’s pushing 40 and looking great, no longer so pretty. If he chooses some good roles, he could be our next Steve McQueen. So suck it.
Yaaaahhh hit the nail on the head!! ??
Katrina as an action vehicle for fill_in_the_blank actor? What an abomination.
Think I’ll pass.
If i buy the rights to this movie at sxsw will it make Paul go away? Please!
Heisserer’s a cool and talented guy. Hope this does well.
Paul’s career hasn’t been the same since he left Jim Osborne. Biggest mistake he ever made. Osborne might be a total nutjob, but he did wonders for his career.
Paul Walker has done nothing to prove his acting skills in his entire career. Maybe he has none. However, this seems to be, at least, slightly different from what he usually does. Maybe there is hope out there for him.
Looks good. I’m in.
Looks good, this flick will do well. Keep talking smack about him, he’s a Jiu Jitsu practitioner and would kick your ass haters haha.
I feel you! Paul walker is definitely underrated and has a lot of potential! I have been a fan of his since i was a teenager.he gets better and more handsome with age! Not to mention his ROWW organization!hes a great guy !
