Outstanding Motion Picture

Amazing year for Kerry Washington. Hopefully Emmy can’t ignore her this year.
Outstanding supporting actress in a motion picture???? What?
SCANDAL is pretty much EVERYTHING that’s wrong with Network TV!
Quvenzhané Wallis….nothing????
Image Awards are a bigger joke than the Golden Globes. The value of an Image Award, plus $1.98, can get you a bagel and coffee at McDonald’s.
Gee, are you still bitter about November 6th?
Or… is it the 150th anniversary of Jan 1st, 1863 that’s got your panties in a wad?
Not sure what happened on those dates you referenced, but I’m assuming they have nothing to do with the Image Awards. The Image Awards nominations are given out based on the color of a person’s skin, not on merit. Tyler Perry and Red Tails weren’t good enough to be nominated by any of the other, bigger, more prestigious academies, so Perry and Red Tails will have to accept sloppy seconds.
That you’re (willfully) “not sure” what happened on those dates Jason Todd mentioned says it all.
Tatyana Ali again? At no fault of her own Ms Ali is recurring at best and has no storyline other than being one of the supporting regular’s girlfriend. There are so many great actresses of color on Daytime Television, including Debbie Morgan, I just don’t get it.
I’m puzzled by this every year. She’s talented but does not deserve mention because she averages 5 mins of screentime per season. And you are correct. She has no storyline. She shows up, responds to what other characters are saying and then you don’t see her again for months!!
The NAACP Awards can have merit if they rely on a blue ribbon panel to determine nominees & winners and not the entire NAACP membership. They distribute a ballot to all card carrying members, many who have not seen or have access to any of the nominee’s work, and they vote solely on name recognition or by checking a random box. I know because I received ballots while I was a member. I’m sure this voting process exists as well with other award ceremonies but it’s really obvious here based on who walked away with statues.
But on the flipside, some of the nominees or winners may not get this recognition otherwise.
So happy for Kerry Washington, she definitely deserves all her accolades and what an honor to be presented an award by Diahann Carroll.
I can’t…
Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series – LL Cool J – “NCIS: Los Angeles”
Where was Mercedes from Glee? She was nominated too. She was robed
Jason Todd is the BEST!
Sad that the majority of the performances awarded at this sham of a ceremony were nothing more than minstrel shows.
The reason Red Tails won is because of Melody Hobson and fiance George Lucas — she’s/he’s a big supporter of the NAACP, it helps to be a supporter.
Love Kerry more and more. So genuine.
You have to remember that George Lucas put up a lot of his own money to make “Red Tails” a reality. That’s why he was given the NAACP Vanguard Award last year. Apparently, his efforts resonated this year, too!
I enjoyed the spectacular show, from beginning to end, and the right winners were chosen! I loved the pairing of Keke and the Everybody Hates Chris kid, to announce a winner!
Anyone who wins an award for a tyler perry sitcome shows how awful the award show is in the first place. Its basically which black star male or female has had the most screen time and they get an award. jamie foxx as entertainer of the year for one movie?
If you want to make an argument about the lack of black stars in hollywood fine but the image awards is nothing more than who can we get to show up.
Well said, Tom. Agreed, unfortunately.
