On his show following the Oscars last night, Jimmy Kimmel debuted the sequel trailer to the Movie: The Movie trailer from last year’s post-Oscar show on ABC. Kimmel’s BFF Oprah Winfrey plays the U.S. president in the 7-minute skit, which also features Channing Tatum, Rachel Weisz, Samuel L. Jackson, Bradley Cooper, Bryan Cranston, Salma Hayek, Gerard Butler, John Krasinski, Kerry Washington, Matt Damon and Bruno Mars.

Now that’s what movie comedy looks like!
I don’t understand the fascination with this guy. He is mediocre funny at his very best.
So clever, so smart, Jimmy Kimmel is. And Jimmy Fallon, even smarter, at least in interviews. Fallon is “event comedy” – you dont know what the hell will happen. Meanwhile, Leno and letterman plod along, doing the same dull jokes and bits, so stale, so tired, so old…Dave and especially Jay are like senior citizens who are too old to drive but everyone’s afraid to tell ‘em.
Horrible.
Cameos by themselves aren’t funny. And the whole point about trailers are their snappy editing. This thing had neither humor nor comedic timing.
I didn’t laugh once during this thing. Horribly bad and embarrassing.
The Matt Damon bit is a direct rip-off of a Bobby Lee sketch on MADtv.

Yikes.
That was awful beyond belief. JKL always thinks he’s so funny and nobody has the guts to tell him how terrible he is. This video was atrocious in every way. It was stupid it was way too long and there wasn’t a single funny moment in it. Every year after the Oscars he does this and it’s always horrendously bad it’s his worst show of the year every year.
How in the hell did Jimmy Kimmel get his own show? It just goes to show that have to know people in order to get ahead in life. A fifth grader resorting to toilet humor is funnier than this abyssmal train wreck. Painstakingly unfunny.
It was supposed to be bad, as many sequels are (think: Speed2)…. and in context of those cheesy movies on ScFi channel staring the Baldwin’s 2nd cousin, it was pretty good…
Yes, but I think it’s supposed to be a humorous take on how bad these films can be. It’s not supposed to take on the very reason why such films are horrible.
I like Kimmel, but that was AWFUL!!!
One thing deadline commenters clearly don’t get are comedy and humor.
